WE PURCHASED IT NEW FOR OUR URETHANE RUBBER CASTING COMPANY. IT HAS BEEN USED TO MAKE ALUMINUM ROLLER CORES MAINLY AND A FEW PLASTIC PARTS. I VEND OUT ALL STEEL WORK. ALSO. I AM A TOOL AND DIE MAKER BY TRADE AND THIS HAS NEVER RUN AT MORE THAN 2500 RPM. I HAVE RUN IT LIKE A HAND MACHINE. IT HAS BEEN WELL KEPT AND MAINTAINED ALWAYS. A FEW YEARS AGO WE SENT THE ENTIRE COMPUTER TO SIEMENS TO BE UPGRADED AND TESTED AT A COST OF $12000. IT HAS RUN MUCH QUICKER SINCE. IT HAS A 12 STATION TURRET AND A TAILSTOCK WHICH CAME AS AN OPTION FROM THE FACTORY. ALL MANUALS AND LOGS ARE INCLUDED AS IS THE TOOL HOLDERS. NO GENERIC TOOLING IS INCLUDED BUT I MAY SELL SOME IF I HAVE ... moreDUPLICATES. IT IS SET UP WITH A PART COUNTER ALSO. THE ISSUES WITH THE MACHINE IS THESE. A COUPLE YEARS AGO TOOL 9 STARTED HALTING THE MACHINE. WE WERE TOLD THAT THE CABLE GOING TO THE CHANGER HAD A WIRE THAT WENT TO TOOL 9 WHICH HAD A BAD CONNECTION SO I JUST PUT THAT TOOL IN THE TOOL 10 SLOT. THEN THE MACHINE DEVELOPED A RUBBING SOUND. WE WERE TOLD THE DRAWBAR ACTUATOR WAS GOING OUT. WE REPLACED IT AT A COST OF $4500 AND ALSO REPLACED THE BELTS WHILE IT WAS APART. WE ALSO DRAINED AND REPLACED THE FILTER AND FLUID. IT RAN FINE FOR A FEW JOBS AND THEN THE NOISE RETURNED. AT THIS TIME WE CANNOT SEE ENOUGH OF A RETURN ON OUR REPAIR INVESTMENT. YOU CAN SEE IT RUN AND IT STILL FUNCTIONS BUT THERE IS AN ISSUE THAT NEEDS ADDRESSING. IF YOU BUY IT FOR PARTS THERE ARE A LOT OF GOOD ONES BUT IT WOULD BE A SHAME TO SCUTTLE IT. It was purchased new in 2008. In the time I've owned it. It has always been used and stored in climate controlled shops. This lathe was used 95% for cutting aluminum(my own products) The other 5% was for gunsmithing and installing rifle barrels. I made three modifications to this lathe: first was to install the pieces of channel to the front of the lathe to help redirect coolant back to the coolant tank(easily removed if desired) Second was to install the halogen work light to the backsplash. Which is plugged into an existing accessory outlet. And third, was to install an outboard spider to the spindle for use in chambering and crowning rifle barrels for gunsmithing. The original Haas spindle end cap is included if this last option is not desired. For those that like to send lowball offers: I will not sell below my asking price prior to Jan 31st. After that time.
