Bucyrus Erie (BE) 25B Crawler Crane (dragline, pile driver) -Needs Repair
We are offering for sale a nice little Bucyrus Erie 25B cable crawler crane. This crane belongs to my father's pile driving business. My father passed about 1 year ago. And we have now decided that we will sell the crane. I've worked with my father's business here and there, so I am only a little familiar with the crane. It has about 60' of boom and has air controls. I am told that the air controls are really nice and eliminate operator fatigue. It is powered by a GM diesel engine, I believe it is a 3 cylinder. With a charged battery, I am amazed at how is starts almost immediately after sitting cold. I do know that this crane was functioning well as a pile driving crane before we most recently have been using it for a yard lift crane. Many hours of maintenance was done to it about 2 years ago were everything was gone through and adjusted, including the air system was all gone over to eliminate leaks. In addition to maybe a new battery, It does need repair to the house lock, which and one of the track dogs, which does not lock-out. I am told that if it were used more frequently, that these items would stay looser and work more as they should. I am also told that this crane still has all of the covers for the cable drum areas, that are usually missing from this model of crane. I don't know how old it is, but I remember my dad stating that it was one of the later 25B's made by Bucyrus Erie. This would make a nice dragline crane for someone(we do not have a dragline bucket for it) or a good little pile driving crane, as it was for us. What you have here is a 12 1/2 or 15 ton pettibone crane that I mounted on a trailer years ago. It was an RT crane. At the time when I put it together. I installed a 350 chevy motor. I have used this 18 years with virtually no problems. I have lifted machines that weighed close to 30,000 lbs. It is in still very workable condition.I used it mainly for my towing business on truck accidents.Sometimes I towed behind wrecker and other times behind a tractor. I just used it last week lifting the sea container in the pic on one end and wrecker on the other.This lift was about 30,000 lbs. Before this crane is to be used it is suppose to have a full inspection by a quailified inspector. 1969 Grove Crane
For Sale- 1969 Grove TR-250. This is a 25 Ton Crane. 80 feet of stick, 40 feet of jib. Clean Title. Was registered, insured and over the road. Machine runs great and strong. We spent some time and money on it to put it into service then decided to go another route. No time for the crane. Truck runs healthy and goes down the road like it means it. Crane also runs great. Both fire right up and run. Truck could use update on rims and tires. Crane has had it's inspection and has a few minor deficiencies. Easy fixes. New Interstate batteries all around. All new LED lighting. New guages in truck. Both truck and crane have all new glass and gaskets. Crane windows not installed. I can be contacted for questions. It's time to part.
