John Deere 404 Diesel Engine Running
FIRST OFF. I AM NOT POSITIVE IF THIS IS A 404. I could not find a tag on it, like are on some 404's or Deere engines. I have a 404 Turbo in my shed that looks just like this engine but it has a tag. If anyone can tell me I would appreciate it. It was pulled out of a 6600 combine that was a Hydro& Sidehill, so I just assumed they had the bigger 404 engine. Serial# of the combine was 255720H if that helps anyone. Was a later model. had rotary screen. I pulled this out of a combine I bought from a farmer that had been using it as a parts machine for his other 6600. They said it had been a few yeas since it ran. I got it home, hooked up fresh fuel, primed it& fired her up. The oil was at a good level. Starter seems fine. Has no pulley on the water pump so I only ran it bout 10 minutes. Seemed to run fine to me. Did not appear to smoke. ... moreHad great oil pressure. The throttle response seemed a little slow when you would hit the lever forward. Maybe a while of running fresh fuel through it would help. If you moved it slowly it worked fine. No big deal really. The hour meter read 4300plus hours do not know if it worked. I did not run it long enough to tell if it had moved. It is a complete engine. Starter, alternator,Roosa Master pump& flywheel are all on it. It is sold as is. I will not ship, please do not ask. IH 1460 combine with a 820 20' header. The combine runs good everything works as it should. There are a couple hydraulic hoses that could be replaced. Nothing major. The 820 header is sitting on a set of running gears. John Deere 329 Diesel Engine Power Unit Irrigation Tractor Combine
This is a good running 329 diesel out of a John Deere 6600 combine. It has around 3900 hours on it. Hour meter did work. I bought the combine at auction& drove it home about 20 miles. That's all I did with it. Just bought for parts. It ran fine, did not get warm& had good oil pressure. Did seem to have some blow by as most engines will do this old. The#s on the engine tag are, 6329DH 01, serial# 345036 T. I do not have the combines serial# sorry. This is a complete engine, what you see is what you get. The only bad thing is, there is a hole in the oil pan. When pulling the engine, it popped free& hit a pulley& put a whole in the pan. Pan is not all crushed in, just a couple small holes. I do not know much about these engines but was told they were used for power units& irrigation pumps. Should work in some tractors ... morewith a little work. As stated above and as you can see here. This is not a machine from a dealer. This is a good old machine that was recently used. In my book that is worth something. It comes with small trailer type dollies for the heads. This unit was purchased from a previous owner who purchased to use harvesting sunflowers and decided not to use. He purchased from a farm owner who purchased new and used on a 60 acre farm. I purchased to pick corn and it did great. Just not sure I will put in corn next year and if it sales at my price I will let her go. If not I will keep and maybe use next year. As you can see it is stored in the dry and appears to have always been. I did replace the A/C compressor and A/C works. I have not used the heater. I failed to mention above it is a gas machine with what looks to be a Chevy engine. Parts are easy to get for the ... moreengine. Years ago we used Gleaners on the farm and I am partial to these units. You probably can have shipped most anywhere on a low deck goose neck trailer. I have the guys number who hauled for me. 1981 Gleaner N7 combine for sale. Comes with 24 ft flex head and 6row30inch corn head. Good condition overall. Flex head is weathered but still in decent shape and very usable. Has new sections and guards. Auger is good. Not beat up. Reel needs 3 bats replaced. Has AC sickle in it. Wobble box was replaced before I got it. Skid shoes are worn. Has new drive belt on sickle. Corn head is good and straight. I have replaced gathering chains over last 3 years. Also replaced metal sheeting under intake auger. Snapping rolls are good and have not been reversed. Deck plates are good also. Needs small chains and sprockets replaced under head at the back. I have new sprockets that go with it. When I purchased corn head in 2008 was told it had less than 2000 acres of use. Repairs since I have owned it: new main shaft than drives variable cylinder speed ... moreon right side and hydro belt on left side as well as bearings were replaced by dealer in 2012.Rebuilt torque sensing hub, new helicals(double stacked on separator side) in 2013,3 new cage sections in 2013, 2 new rear tires(16.9x24) in 2011,alternator and belt in 2011, new separator belt and accelerator roll shaft bearing in 2013, 2 new chopper belts and set of knives in 2013, new accelerator rolls in 2010. Needs 2 rubber bushings on top hanger on each side that drives the shoe. Also flighting is worn on unloader tube and on auger that loads grain tank. Still unloads fine. Unload swivel is tight and always lubricated. Seperator clutch and pins were replaced year before I bought machine. Had a remanufactured Denison hydro put in year before I purchased machine. Has 4 wheel drive. Front tires are 30.5x32 Firestones at approx. 40% Has good cab heater and AC needs recharged. Had new headliner put in cab before I bought it. All glass is good and tight. Mirrors are good also. I used combine on 300 acres total of corn and beans per year. Lots of capacity and gives good clean sample with low loss levels. Two Goodyear 73-44-32 tires and rims removed from a Gleaner. Standard 10 bolt rim with a centered wheel disc. Will fit both John Deere and Case International. Very nice tires with greater than 90% tread and no stubble damage. We traded the combine off and kept the tires as part of the trade for the new combine. 1983 1460 International Combine, 863 6 row Corn Head, Grain Table with Cart
This 1983 1460 International combine is in very good condition with 5.000 hours, doesn't use oil, and has no hydraulic leaks. Very clean combine inside and out. Only one dent in the very tail panel. Paint is good. Interior is very clean. Everything works. No chopper but has dual spreaders on the rear. Tires on the front are a little weak, but I have tires and wheels that go with the machine. Never did put them on since I never had a flat. Brakes do not work very well, but I have never seen brakes that worked on a 1460. Corn head has all new poly snouts and covers. Has just had new chains, cutters, and everything done to head. Corn head is on 30 inch rows. Only about 80 acres on total rebuild. Excellent condition. Grain table works very well. Only thing it could use is teflon pads on bottom. Cart is an old cart, but I just put new tires ... moreall the way around. All of this equipment is ready to go to the field. No problems with any of it. If you bid, come see it and don't like what you see, you don't have to take it. Im selling my 1688 corn and soybean combine that I have owned for 12yrs. This combine is in great condition. Completely rebuilt in August 2013. Every bearing. Auger, sprocket, chain, belt, clean grain and return housing have been replaced with new parts. All new afx style rotor with all the components. Two new discharge plates between rotor and beater. The unloading augers. Sump and housing are new. The upper screen is new. All new hydraulic hoses. The front tires are 35.5-32 at 85 percent. The rear are 18.4-26 at 85 percent. The combine comes with a set of steel tracks that are in good condition. We used the tracks in 2012& 2013 harvest. They work great. The engine was replace three years ago.
