ROOKWOOD 9" SCENIC VELLUM LANDSCAPE VASE'SPRING MORNING' 1916 FRED ROTHENBUSCH This Rookwood Scenic Vellum vase stands 9" high by 4.75" in diameter. It has a very classic trumpeted form. Simple, yet elegant. This vase was decorated by one of Rookwood's best artists, Mr. Fred Rothenbusch. He decorated this vase using shades of light gray to pale green and rich blue hues, which looks as if he was trying to capture a spring morning. The artwork on this vase is exquisite. It presents like an oil painting. The scene is set in a treed landscape where the leaves and greenery are lush green, with a beautiful rolling blue colored mist on the horizon. This vase is absolutely gorgeous! It is well marked and dated 1916, a great period for Rookwood Scenics. Rothenbusch's initials are noted on the base, along with the Rookwood ... morelogo and its shape number. A Wren so Fenton says, is decorated with a Michelle Kibbe design looking more and more like a bird you would find in the wild. Since the 1980's I don't remember Fenton doing a NATURAL series of birds like this series was done. Great JOB! Our cute little bird is about 4 inches long. About 2-3/4 inches tall and about 2-1/4 inches wide. All of our piece is decorated and signed by S. Jackson, one time lead designer for Fenton. Model number is 5163C9. There is some crazing cracks, some rough marks to the top edge(maybe it was meant to have a lid? but otherwise in an excellent condition.

It is fully illustrated with color images and has 290 pages. 11 chapters(titles show in the second pic) A great resource for trout anglers. This book is in very good shape. Very minor wear on the dust jacket is about the only thing wrong and even that is negligible. No tears or anything, just a few light wrinkles. Very solid copy. Pages are in great shape. 19th Century Corded and Handpainted Pin Cushion, Spring Flowers
This is a beautiful little hand painted pin cushion with floral designs. Stuffed with what I believe is coarse emery, and the material is a laid silk. The stripes of the silk can be seen in the 4th photo, the cording is a light salmon color and the painting appears to be in gouche-pinks and greens. Dates to circa 1870s and measures about 5.5 inches in length, 1.5 inches in width, 1.25 inches in height. Nice decorative example of Victorian homemade sewing skills. Comes with five black glass head mourning pins, as found.
