I'm no George gruhn but I'd say it's a solid 8 out of 10. The only real issue is your typical cosmetic wear from a 30 year old bass. It has not been abused just paint chipping. Neck is perfect. Pickups are strong. It will come with what I'll call case candy. Original pickup and bridge cover(with mute underneath) that have never been installed. Two case keys. The Internet says this case is authentic and period correct for the years 1967-1973. And who am I to argue with the Internet? The battery for the guitar will need to be replaced due to age. I am unsure of the year. There are normal nicks on the guitar, mostly at the head. There are normal scuffs on the guitar that can be removed if the new owner wishes. The strings were loosen for shipping. I did not polish or clean the guitar. You will recive it as I purchased it. You will also receive a vintage Fender Hard Shell Case that goes with the auction. The case has several scuffs from normal movement. The case will work well for shipping the guitar. For auction is an all original 1973 or 1974 Fender Precision Fretless Bass neck. Has original tuning keys and string tree. Features a very nice rosewood fingerboard without lines. Small amount of string wear. Original finish on back of neck and headstock is excellent. There is a small amount of finish checking on the face of the headstock due to age and a small chip in the nut that does not affect playability. Truss rod is perfect. 70's FENDER PRECISION BASS NECK 1975 - 1976
The neck code dates late 1975 on this bass. But it may have been sold in early 1976. The nut has been changed to a brass nut. There is wear on the edges of the fingerboard and a few lacquer chips. When it was assembled, there wear a few buzzes, but only one major buzz under the 4th string around the 18th-20th frets. Does anybody play there? As you can see, the truss rod nut is no longer flush with the butt end of the neck, but it will still tighten if needed. The frets show wear. There's more wear nearest the nut, and less wear as you get the the butt end. The nut width is 1 5/8 inches.
