Please remember this scale is for a collector. Parts or display only. In its current condition you won't be measuring any moisture. I don't know what, or if anything is missing. I'm guessing yes, stuff is missing. The scale was made by Ohaus for the Moore Dry Kiln Company. I have no idea of how it worked. My description my not use the best terminology so feel free to ask questions. The scale can be separated into two parts. The top portion and the base. The top part has the moisture scale on the left side and there is some minor damage to the edge of the moisture scale on this far left side. The moisture scale is numbered JB-230D- 1310. Some of the parts in the top section show signs of oxidation. Just below the start of the balance beam is an L shaped threaded piece but I don't know what it does or what it is missing. We left the natural patina(we find it preferable and helps show the age) on this Weight; I'm sure it would probably polish up to bright brass if you wish. The Weight is in near mint condition. Free of chips or cracks, but does have a kind of dark spot on the bottom and some edge scratches(see photos) It weighs 2¾ ounces. Overall measurements are: 1 1/8" high x just over 1" across the bottom. We combine shipping. We do not put a reserve price on any of our items. We want you to know that we have to buy our boxes.
