NJ, this scale has heavy cast iron construction, stainless steel 7" diameter plates and an easy reading window. Accurate to within a gram and robust enough to last forever. There is no damage. Everything works as it should and weights on the beam move smoothly. There are a few black and red ink spatters from use- perhaps they could be removed if desired- I did not try. This is a vintage OHAUS balance beam scale. The capacity is 2 KG/ 5 LB. The installed measure is in grams. The upper slider is 0 to 10g. The bottom slider is notched every 10g from 0 to 200g. The scale is in balance as shown but there is a precision calibration if adjustment ever becomes necessary. It is in excellent condition. The scale measures 13.75" wide. The round plates are 6" in diameter. They have some spotting tarnish that might be removed with a quality metal cleaner. The label reads HARVARD TRIP BALANCE. There are no dents chips or cracks. The beige base paint is excellent. A good cleaning will make it even better. I'll leave that to the new owner. I stands about 7.75" to the top of the needle gauge. Please examine the photos. OHaus Triple Beam Analytical Balance Scale This scale came from a college Metals Lab! It was tough shape when I got it! Some cleaning of the corrosion made this a fully functional scale! Some of the corrosion was very deep and left pitting in the cast frame! The Pan was replaced with a plexiglass platform. The zero is adjusted for this platform.
