Scale measures 13 3/4 inches long by 7 1/2 inches high with the weighing pans measuring 5 5/8 inches square. The weighing pans are made of what we believe is porcelain. With a matte finish. It does not appear as if the pans are removable, and we did not want to tamper with it, for fear of damaging them. There is a metal plate on the front that says: Newark Scale Works- Newark. NJ- Ohaus Williams, Brown& Earle- Philadelphia, PA. Has what appears to be a calibration lock/tag attached that has the letters LG. Scale looks as though it may have been repainted from the original black coloring to its current maroon color; this is not a recent paint job. And may have been done around the time of original purchase. ... moreThis is not evident unless the scale is turned on its side to reveal the underneath, where maroon paint drips can be seen. The only marking we were able to discover is a Patent number which is stamped into the arm of the support beams under the pans. Pat# 1782612. This patent was applied for on December 4. 1928 and awarded on October 22, 1929 to Gustav Ohaus for his Trip Scale. The piece is in what appears to be overall very good condition for the age. With no major dents or rust. Pans are in good condition with one minuscule flake underneath one pan at the side. It is not noticeable and is only being mentioned for the sake of accuracy. We are not overly familiar with this item. Other than what is visible to the eye and we are able to describe. The former owner told us that he believed that the scale was once used in a pharmacy counter setting. We are not certain how accurate the scale is or how to test it. I have up for sale a fully functioning Used Mettler Toledo XP6002S scale. This scale was used in a pharmaceutical lab and is in very good shape but does show signs of use. I cleaned the balance quickly to take pictures and I'm sure most of the corrosion that is left on it can be cleaned up. If you look at the pictures you can see some signs of use along the front feet and the back plug area. Besides the little bit of corrosion the balance looks very nice and functions as it should. The last calibration date was August 2011 but I tested it with some test weights and seems to be functioning quite well. I cleaned the balance quickly to take pictures and I'm sure most of the corrosion that is left on it can be cleaned up. If you look at the pictures you can see some signs of use along the front feet and the back plug area. Besides the little bit of corrosion the balance looks very nice and functions as it should. The last calibration date was August 2011 but I tested it with some test weights and seems to be functioning quite well. Balance Scale in Box with Gram Weights Clay Adams New York
The International Society of Antique Scale Collectors(ISASC.org) is selling some of the duplicate items from its museum collection. Balance scale folds to fit in box. The beam measures about 7- 1/8" The pans are about 3- 1/4" in diameter. There are 7 brass gram weights- 20.10, 10, 5, 2, 2 and 1. Eight weights in the small tin- 500mg, 200mg, 100mg, 100mg, 50, 20, 20 and 10. This scale is in working condition. The box is a little loose and has been glued. The box measures about 10" x 4- 3/8" The scale in the box stands 8' tall. A tag on the front reads: Property of Clay Adams Co New York Made in USA.

Mettler Gram Weight Measurement Scale PJ4000G Gold Balance Scale 4100g Max
This item is in great condition cosmetically. Some slight wear and couple marks but again a nice scale. I plugged unit in, weighed something, zeroed the scale and it seemed to be working great. I couldn't figure out how to turn it off, so I just unplugged it. When you first power item on, it flashes the numbers 60.42.64, I don't know if that is the operating system or what, writing on front says 4100g max. Nice looking scale, comes with ac power cord, I will ship scale with the silver top piece wrapped separate so scale arrives in great condition, I sell all my electronics as is, but Item powered up and seemed to be working fine, buyer pays $10 shipping
