This solid brass scale balance beam weight weighs exactly 4 pounds(stamped"4 LB" on top) and measures 5 3/4" high. Since these scale weights had to be very accurate. The Dept. of Weights& Measures would check the various public establishments including drug stores every year to make sure the weights they were using"measured up" so to speak. This example shows that is was stamped by W&M for the years 1852, 1856 and 1857 to be accurate and there are other date stampings difficult to read. The scale zeros correctly, and has been verified with test weight to ensure it reads correctly. I have also checked the three weights that are included on another accurate scale, and they are all accurate to the number stamped on their housing. Steelyard Scales have been used for centuries and this great piece of history allows for the use of two different weighing functions with separately embossed graduated weight ranges. You use one set of hooks on one side with balance indicator for weight ranges between 0 lbs to 80 lbs. Vintage Triple Beam Balance 2610g Ohaus Scale 700/800 Series. 5lb 2oz. Works great. Has a adjustment turn knob. Adjust the scale to Zero. The scale measures 17" in length. The scale has no broken parts. The scale has some scuff marks. The dial turns smoothly. The top stainless steel dish measures 6" in diameter. Has watchers below where the dish is to balance the scale. The scale is well balanced. I have sold several of theses scales. This one has to be the cleanest I listed. Have another one like it. What we have to offer is a very old gold rush style balance beam scale from Hammel Riglander. It is a high quality scale that comes with a total of 14 weights and the wooden box shown. They range from.5 grain to 6 grains for light colored ones. And 2 grain up to 6 grain for the larger flat weights. The weights that are larger are 2 pcs@ 1/2 try ounce and 1 pc@ 1 troy ounce. This is a very nice extremely accurate scale, it is leaning against the back cloth, anyone would be proud to own. Buy it now for that favorite law person or just to weigh up all your gold!
