L68 BUNSEN BURNER OXY GAS AIR FLAME 4 LAB METAL JEWELRY GLASS vintage type
Note: L68 is my inventory control number. This auction is for(1) vintage Bunsen burner. I am not sure of the brand of this one. I would guess it is from the late 50's to early 70's judging by the type of metal bottom material it has but don't quote me on it. USA made. Not imported pot metal. It works good and is clean. It measures 6-1/2" high. The gas inlet is 3/8" so you can use 5/16 to 3/8" inside diameter Tygon or equivalent tubing with it. The stand is sturdy at 3.0" in diameter and is the older heavier type. The pipe that screws into the stand is 1/4" NPT thread. The top diffuser comes off for cleaning and inspection. The patent# is 2942655 if you want to search it or research that patent. These are very hard to come across. This is a vintage excellent working torch for lab use. Jewelry, glass and metal working. The"old school" fine jewelers and silversmiths love these. Both your hands are free to work on your work and not have to try and hold a torch in one hand. It also can be bolted down to a work surface with the(2) 1/4" holes in the base. This is 100% USA made and all metal and alloys, everything now is plastic bodied. It works excellent and is in good condition for its age with just some deposits, spatter and pitting on the nozzle body as the photos show. The length of the burner is a wide 5.0" The overall height of the unit with the very sturdy stand is 6.0" and the diameter of the stand is 6.0" As far as fittings go. The gas inlet is a tapered barb that measures approximately between.3260(8.27mm) and.4600" 11.69mm) so it will accept Tygon or other tubing with a inside diameter of about 5/16" to 7/16" with 3/8" the best choice I would think. The air inlet is 3/8" npt and there is a factory installed 3/8" male npt to 1/8" female npt pipe bushing installed. Then there is a 1/8" compression adapter without the nut. Very nice antique alcohol lab burner with an octagon shape. It is in good condition except for one teeny chip on one of the points of the octagon. I believe this is seen in the last picture and one chip too small to get a picture of on the top edge. It is embossed on the bottom with patent Jun 26 1883. Note: L75 is my inventory control number. This auction is for(1) Fisher vintage Bunsen burner. The patent on it says 1913 and 1921. It is probably a vintage 1920's model. The part# is 1201-2. It has dual inlets with a shut-off petcock valve and a needle valve under it for the other inlet. It works great and is clean. There is some slight oxidation on it but it looks better in person than the photos show. It stands 8" tall with the diffuser on top that slides on and off. The top diameter is 1-5/8" and the bottom base is 3.0" in diameter. The inlets measure 6" and 7" long and can be oriented apart up to 90 degrees. It can work with just one line or two. The clip on metal"V" clamp you see on the lower inlet tube close to the barb end. Rotates to the down position to make the burner really sturdy when the ... moretubing is connected to it. The diameter of the inlets are about.4100" 10.41mm) so you can use 5/16" 3/8" best) 9 or 10mm inside diameter Tygon or equivalent tubing with it. The stand is sturdy at 3.0" in diameter and is the older heavier type. The pipes that screws into the burner body are standard 1/8" NPT thread. The top diffuser comes off for cleaning and inspection. Here's a vintage lab burner. Or"Bunsen Burner" The item does not appear to have any defects, but I have not tested- my guess is this sucker works perfectly. When I received it, there was so much patina that I could not tell that the unit was made of brass. Being the kind of guy I am, and possessing a professional polisher, I did take the liberty of polishing the unit. The base appears to be cast iron, I did wire brush off the surface rust, buyer can paint or clear coat. There is a needle valve that screws up into the unit from the bottom(see last photo above)

This burner stands a total of 6 1/2 inches. It still has most of the original red paint. The valve on the bottom seems to work. But I don't have a gas source to be 100% positive. Marked"Cenco" in 2 places on the top, with another mark on the base that I can't make out.
