This super cool. Working CS&E(Chicago Surgical and Electric Co. vintage slide warmer is. About 26 in. X 8 in. X 3.5 in. The Electrical specifications are: 120 Volts. 1.3 Amps, 50/60 cycles. And 160 Watts. I tested it. And the plate warms up and stays warm. However, the red heating indicator light is not. Working correctly. It sometimes blinks but it does not stay on. Also. Nice Chicago Surgical Instruments slide warmer model 26000. This unit has been powered up to test it and it seems to heat up quickly and hold temperature well. We tested it at several power levels and it held temperature well at each level and the temperature was uniform across the surface within a few degrees. We allowed it to reach full temperature it seemed to top out at about 60 degrees Celsius. The unit itself is in excellent condition. The cover is solid. But has some scuffs, tape residue and some faded sharpie writing on it. This would be excellent for slide warming or any number of basic laboratory warming applications. Old Vintage Rustic Primitive Tin Chestnut Roaster or Bed Warmer Slide Handle We traveled an hour and a half South into central Illinois for a football game this week. And I took the opportunity of going treasure hunting in the cornfields. I found a surprising variety– there’s something for everyone this week! It took me a minute to actually figure out how this one works- the"hinge" on the handle side of the lid is not really a hinge- it just looks like one- how you open it is that the bottom of the handle slides into the top of the handle. And the small wood knob on the bottom is there to facilitate the process. So, if you hold the end of the handle with one hand, and move the knob away from you, the pot will move foward and the lid move backward- pretty nifty, huh? Now, I'm not sure if this is a bed warmer or a chesnut roaster- ... moreyou tell me, it's old, and could be old enough to be antique, I just could not find another like it to say for sure, see what you think. It's made of all tin, even the top, which very much looks like old copper, but that's a finish. It's harder see on the sides, as the sides are pretty much black especially toward the bottom, but it looks like the copper finish once covered the pot. If the handle ever had a finish, I don't think it was copper- maybe silver, but it's hard to tell, it may not have been because whatever it was, it is mostly gone now. It's not a popcorn popper- there's no crank or handle to turn the corn- and the pot on the bottom is solid, with round vent holes in the center of the top. There's a hole for hanging on the end of the handle. it measures 21" long handle end to pot side, it's 9" diameter at the pot and 4" deep from the top of the lid to the bottom of the pot. It's fairly light, being tin, at just 1 lb. and is in excellent solid and sturdy structural condition, structurally.
