There was a small amount of play in the knob, but it did not affect function. At each setting, the thermostat shut off the power once the desired temperature was reached(confirmed with a clamp-type ammeter) and the temperature(as measured with a cooking thermometer) was within 2-3 degrees of that set. The only negative things that I can find to say are mainly cosmetic- there is some staining. Some faded writing in magic marker and a very small amount of surface corrosion on the metal foot as pictured. Finally, the power cord is short- approx. 1 foot long. These sell for $1200 new and one just sold for $560 in February. This is the only one on ebay right now and on offer for a bargain price- don't miss out!

Up for sale is my Thermolyne Sybron Model HP-11515B Explosion Proof Hot Plate. Tested and Working, for Class 1 Group D Environments. Prior to listing I tested this by setting the dial to 100. 150 and 200 Celsius. There was a small amount of play in the knob, but it did not affect function. At each setting, the thermostat shut off the power once the desired temperature was reached(confirmed with a clamp-type ammeter) and the temperature(as measured with a cooking thermometer) was within 2-3 degrees of that set. The only negative things that I can find to say are mainly cosmetic- there is some staining. Some faded writing in magic marker and a very small amount of surface corrosion on the metal foot as pictured. Finally, the power cord is short- approx. 1 foot long.
