Beautiful Silver SP Vintage Champagne, or Wine Ice bucket
This beautiful Champagne or Wine Ice Bucket. Will be even more beautiful when more polishing is done. There is still tarnash left. If you prefer the patina look, it probably would not take long to get back to that. No scratches that I could see. I did polish some. We have had this about the last 20 years. Don't know how old this is. We bought this at an auction outside of Patagonia, AZ in the early 1990's. It weighs about 3 pounds and is 10" tall, 9 1/2" across top and 6" across base. This is a silver plated ice bucket. Sheridan style, made by Taunton Silversmiths. W e received this as a gift in 1983. Th i s was rarely. If ever, used and mostly stored. The bucket is 10" high with the lid, and 6 1/4" without. It is 7 1/4" wide. 10 1/4" with the handles. It is insulated and has a glass lining. The lining is like new. With no chips, cracks or wear. The bucket has a light scratch on one side(see the last ph oto) 1 1/4"1 1/2" long. I think it was there when we received it. The bucket will be shipped in its original box. Vintage Bacova Guild Ice Bucket, Signed G.G., Quail in Flight, Wood Lid & Base
I found this great vintage ice bucket at an estate sale in a small lakeside community close to Lake Texoma at the Texas/Oklahoma border. It fit in perfectly in the rustic surroundings where I found it. Although the usual stamp for the Bacova Guild is not on the bottom of the piece. I think due to possible water damage, I'm very sure that this is one of their ice buckets. From what I've read, the company was started in 1965 in Virginia and went through a series of difficulties. Grace Gilmore, the artist that painted the quails on this piece, was instrumental in saving the company. This original quail drawing has a"GG" under it and is laminated to the textured fiberglass outer shell as the other items I've seen from the Bacova Guild. The wood lid and bottom are a heavy hardwood, possibly oak or walnut(I am no expert) and ... morethe wood knob is topped with a resin dome that has a quail feather imbedded in it. Size: approx. 10 inches tall, 10 inches wide at top and 8.5 inches wide at bottom. 7 1/2" H. 6 3/8" dia. around the top. 3 7/8" dia. on the bottom. The bottom is marked Made in Italy. It's a light weight ice bucket and snug fitting cover. It has no handles, as you can see most of the cover has has the little circles or partial circles in the aluminum, most of the bucket has this design too, it reminds me a little of hand hammered look but of course the designs on it are machine done, There's one small dent on the edge of the"handle" on the cover. Atapco Authentic Mid Century Swank Chrome and Wood Ice Bucket Mad Men Era Made in USA! This is an authentic mid century ice bucket the 50's thru the early 70's. It has a chrome lid and bottom with a faux wood grain veneer on the outside. The lid has a wood knob on top and there is also a wooden grip on the top of the chrome handle. It is made in the USA by Atapco. The condition is fair-good but keeping in mind it is 40-50 years old. The lid has multiple spots where the chrome is nicked most likely from someone putting the tongs on top. The tongs are missing from this ice bucket. West Bend Penguin Hot and Cold Server Beautiful ice bucket or cold and hot server made by the West Bend Aluminum. Co. 2 quart capacity. It has a chrome finish and bakelite handles. There are eight penguins embossed into the chrome finish around the upper section of the bucket. The side and top handles are made of marbled brown and black bakelite.
