Central Machinery 9 x 20 geared head. Belt driven bench metal lathe. It has a 3/4" spindle bore, 9" swing over bed, and 20" between centers, overall bed length is about 28" Has a 3/4 hp 110v motor and runs nice. Spindle bearings were repacked with Lucas ren'n tacky#2 EP grease not long ago, and it has been kept oiled, NOT with cheap motor oil but with quality Mobil Vactra way oil and dte heavy/medium oils. The bed is heat treated and doesn't have any dings/dents or damage along its whole length. The machine is mounted on a very sturdy Waterloo bench. The top worm surface measures 23"x54"x1 1/4" it makes for a solid structure and lots of storage space with its 3 drawers. All drawers have ball bearing slides. Has forward and reverse, saddle has power feed and 9 speed gearbox. The bed has been hardened ... moreand ground for accuracy. The good news: Includes 8" 3 jaw chuck(mounted) 10" 4 jaw chuck, Drive plate(not pictured) Aloris BXA tool post, 1) BXA1, 1) BXA4, 1) cut off blade holder(no marking) New(Clausing) lower drive belt, used original lower drive belt(in useable condition) used upper drive belt in useable condition, ways all look good, 3hp, 220/440v, 3ph motor. The bad news: The variable speed drive is bad, all the typical Clausing problems. I have new bushing and drive keys from Clausing. The lower variable speed pulley keyway is cracked, will need repaired or replaced. The upper variable speed pulley just needs epoxy recoated. The brake discs are good. The clock spring in the speed adjust housing needs replaced, I rebent the end just to try the lathe out, the hydraulic cylinder was working, new parts are available also. I had this lathe running briefly ... morebefore disassembling it. Gearing for normal and back gear was ok, tried out some of the threading feeds and lifted the cover off the change gear box, everything looked ok. Original Clausing manual is included, very good parts views and adjustment details. Everything this lathe needs replaced is available from Clausing. Lots if alternative repair information on the internet. The brake/clutch arm bracket on the right side of the carriage apron is broken, the headstock arm is ok. Thread dial, 4 postion toolholder& misc. holders, wrenches, a 10" 3 jaw chuck, 18" 4 jaw chuck, two live centers small and large, taper attachment, headstock center, light, and 3ea steady rests; 8" factory, plus 9" 17" fabricated, and boring bar holder. It has less than 1/8 turn backlash in the crossfeed and compound. It is powered by a 15HP 3 phase motor and is currently wired for 480volt. Hardinge Cobra 42 CNC lathe w/ chuck, collets, and tooling
This machine is located in Forristell MO. I can not figure out how to get that changed in my listing. The only thing wrong with it is that the tool changer does not index. It was sold to me as a machine in working condition. But it was not. I replaced the spindle bearings and have broken them in. The spindle will need to be aligned by the buyer. The machine came to me without parameters. I have files for them, but do not have a computer that I am able to link to the control to load them. I entered all of the parameters manually, and I have been able to get all of the functions to work except the tool changer. The spindle turns on and off correctly, the parts catcher works and the machine will move in both handle and automatic mode. The tail stock ram also moves correctly. I sent the tool changer servo to be tested and it works properly. I ... morealso had a fanuc tech check out the drive and he said that it is working properly, so all of the hardware for the tool changer seems to be functional. This machine also includes a cabinet full of collets and a 6" chuck with some jaws. I would estimate that there are more than 100 collets and at least 20-30 collet stops. This machine has the collet nose built into the spindle and the draw bar screws directly into the back of the collet. No collet chuck or adapter is needed. All of the work holding will come in a cabinet that is included. There are also tool holders for each station on the turret and several turning tools of different types. I have all of the manuals, and both a hard copy and digital copy of all of the parameters from hardinge. If you have any questions please email me to set up a time for a phone call. Spectralight 0400 CNC Lathe
This is a spectralight 0400 cnc lathe up for sell. It shows little sign of being used. I puchased it at a school auction without a controller. So I bought and installed everything needed to control the lathe from cnc4pc.com. The new control is designed to run with mach3. The unit has an eight turrent automatic toolchanger and a spindle encoder for threading. It will come with a pc and a usb drive with the drivers and software needed to conect and run the lathe from the pc. There is no keyboard. Mouse, or screen with the pc. You will have to purchase the license for mach3. The lathe connects through a usb port on the computer. I never got around to connecting the unit and running diagnostics. Up for sale is a Hardinge HSL-59 super precision second operation CNC Servo lathe. This is a nice clean little unit that will make someone a nice lathe. I have powered it up and played with it some. I was able to get the screen to do a few things. But I have not been able to do much more than that. It may be that some sort of code needs to be typed in to get it moving, but I haven't figured it out so it will have to go to someone that can. I was able to move the cross slide X-Y positions with the little buttons mounted on each cross slide motor and you can see the numbers on the screen moving in accordance up and down. Long bed lodge and shipley lathe 20 x 180
I got this lathe 10 years ago and has worked well for us but I now have a bigger one so it is time to let someone else have it. The lathe is a mid 70's Lodge and shipley 20 by 180 with a 2 inch spindle hole. 21 to 1750 rpm, 15 hp, 4 to 256.5 tpi, rapid on carriage NO TAPOR, 1 18 inch 4 jaw and 1 18 inch 3 jaw, 2 steady rests. The lathe does not come with the tool post or live center even though thay are in the pics. The 2nd steady is on the floor in the pic of the carriage. The BAD about this lathe is the wear on the hardways for 24 inchs right next to the headstock end, it is about.005 deep. It has never caused any problem but it is there and I dont want the buyer to think this is a 25,000 dollar lathe, it is not but if you have long work it is a 9000 dollar lathe all day long. Vintage Hjorth Metal Lathe No. 152
Vintage Hjorth Metal Lathe 8 3/4" x 18" Number 152 The bed is 36" long. The headstock spindle and tailstock take B& S 6 taper. The lathe is in good condition overall. There is lots of frosting on compound and cross slide. There is very little backlash. Less than 10/1000" The bed ways have no frosting but are in good shape, though there are some marks. Collets I believe are 4NS. 31 total collets. Collet draw bar. Spindle thread protector. Two shell/face mill holders. Jacobs Chuck and arbor. Three endmill type holders. The motor is a General Electric and looks unused still. It is mounted on a sliding plate, allowing easy belt changes. The oilers look nice and clean on the inside and do have oil inside. The compound slide rest has a 5 1/2" top movement and a 4 1/2" cross movement. Is topped by an eccentric toolpost ... morevery similar to that found on Rivett lathes. There is a second compound slide rest that has slots to mount a tool holder. A complete rocker style tool post is included. The lathe appears to have been repainted. Some of the parts may not be original. There are some marks on the slide. There is some surface rust but not bad at all. The stand is made by Atlas and has very nice pieces of oak wood for the top and shelf. The collet set is missing the 7/32" collet. The collet drawbar handle has some holes. Spindle is being driven by v belt. Includes everything in the picks. If you are interested in the lathe without the Atlas stand. I will lower the price by $200.
