1996 HYUNDAI HiT-18s CNC LATHE
Im selling our 1996 Hyundai HIT 18s lathe with an 8 station turret. We do very little lathe work in our facility and need to move this out to make room for another mill. Weve owned the machine for about 2 years and In that time I only ran it a few times. It has a less than 3 year old 10" 3 jaw chuck. A tailstock and a conveyor. With me having ZERO Seimens control experience and not having a good manual to go by its been easier to knock the few parts we do get out on a manual lathe than it would be to set this thing up. Im listing it in NON working condition because when I started it up to take the picures Im getting a servo alarm for the spindle(see picture of alarm number on screen) Im not sure whats causing it. Up for sale is this Hardinge Super Slant CNC lathe with a Fanuc GN6 control system. The machine seems to be in good condition. But the paint is bad. Machine was originally Blue, but has been poorly painted white. I does have a chip conveyor. Hydraulic chuck and manuals are included. I bought this machine to retrofit a new control on to for development. Got it to my rigger and it is to large for me to handle with the equipment I have access to. The previous owner stated that the machine powered up but needed"parameters" installed. I planned on upgrading the older Fanuc control to a newer PC based unit. My loss is you gain. Has double tumbler gear box and the better cam operated apron clutch. Spindle is 2 1/4"8tpi and 1 3/8" through hole. Motor is 1hp 220volt 3 phase and comes with electronics, all you need is power. The taper attachment has a broken locking lever, otherwise its all there. Thread dial is included. Cabinet is 65" x 25" Lots of tooling included also. A Rohm Supra chuck and a Grand live center. Control has a 25 pin serial port. G-Code can be written offline and loaded to control via this port. I connected a cheap laptop to it and bought some DNC Software and that setup works well for both uploading and downloading. The laptop and software do not go with the machine. If the software licensse is transferrable. I would be willing to discuss this with the buyer. The main control power supply was faulty when I bought it but I had that repaired and it starts up fine now. I also had it painted and installed new Lexan window in the sliding door. I have some manuals but I have to stop short of saying"all" because I don't know what came with it in 1985. There is a book on operation and programming that I found very helpful. I had to learn how to use it the hard way since no training was provided. However. I have notes on things like setting tool offsets and DNC operations that I will gladly share.with the buyer. Emco Compact 5PC CNC mini lathe
This is a used Emco compact 5PC CNC lathe. It was originally a school lathe. And it sat unused for several years. The controller board has been modified to use a modern machine controller software such as Mach3 or LinuxCNC. Everything else about the unit is original. I originally got it to do some small hobby work. But I've since decided that a manual lathe would suit my needs better. The unit comes with a Dell Pentium 4 PC with LinuxCNC already installed and configured for the lathe. The computer also has a pdf copy of the lathe manual on it. It has a 3-jaw chuck. Levin Lathe with Micro drilling attachment and triple slide compound, excellent!
This Levin Lathe came out of the IBM R&D department(see tag attached on motor controller) It is a top of the line lathe with a nice array of accessories. The set of 41- 10 MM collets are an extra set I had and were not original to the lathe but are very high quality 10 mm collets marked from 3 different makers. 17 are Levin. The rest are marked Clement. Hardinge, a few are unmarked. There is also a nice assortment of 15- 8MM collets for use in the tailstock and Micro Drilling Attachment. There are also a 4 other 10mm accessory blanks and arbors. The headstock is of 3C configuration with the original Levin 3C to 10MM adaptor and proper Levin drawbars. A 3C blank arbor is also included which would work perfect to mount a 3 jaw chuck to. The tailstock is lever operated and takes 8mm collets and comes with the upgraded micrometer stop option. ... moreThe lathe is mounted on the original Levin bench and chip tray for excellent rigidly. The key to its precision. The lathe headstock is powered by its original variable speed controller mounted under the left hand side of the bench, as well as a foot operated on/off switch. The Micro drilling attachment is a beautiful piece of tooling that is used for drilling extremely tiny holes; please refer to the Levin website for a complete description of its operation. It has its own individual enclosed drive to power the drilling spindle that is equipped for variable speed operation. The controller has a forward and reverse switch and foot operated on/off switch. There is a power switch with hi/lo range but it appears it does not change between 2 ranges. Only has one range and I am not sure if is in the hi or low range, I am actually nor sure if it is supposed to have two ranges or Levin just used this switch on this controller? The potentiometer does adjust speed through its set range. At any rate, this accessory motor and accompanying overhead drive runs extremely smooth and quiet. Lastly.
