Vintage Adjustable Mannequin Dress Form With Partial Stand
Listing is for a vintage adjustable dress form/ mannequin. Material on the form has some staining I imagine from glue. There are little pieces of paper with number on the adjustable knobs that are coming off from being so old. As I have said in other listings I am not allowed to touch glue so I will leave to the new owner to glue them back in place. The base has a mount for 3 screw in legs I only have two. I scoured the estate sale we were at for it but could not locate it. I am sure you could locate 3 other suitable legs or have one made for this. I am sad to see her go. But I need the room. I purchased this mannequin about 15 years ago. Because I thought I would sew. But I didn't. So. I wired her as a floor lamp, and used different hats for the lampshade. I would find these amazing vintage dresses at thrift shops and dress her in them. Beautiful Tall Vintage French Mannequin Dress Form made our of plaster over fabric. Brass arm and neck plates. Brass tacks on cotton lining. Wood underpart of dress form where the cast iron attachment holds the wood base. Wood turned column with dark green paint on two circular rings. The only markings I see say"FF" on the underside of the cast iron attachment. Some of the plaster has small chips which have flaked off. This is a wonderful piece to add to any dress shop. This dress form mannequin is probably from the 1950s– 1960s There are many separate places to adjust: chest. Bust, mid-section, shoulders, waist. The fabric is in good condition– there are some frays here and there and discolor as well. The inside metal adjustments have some rust but the wing nuts/screws do turn enabling you to expand and contract different parts of the form. Some of these metal sliders do have some bend. It comes on a cast metal adjustable stand. There is some rusting on the pole. The previous owner sanded and painted the leg base– that looks pretty good! As shown in the photos. Unique Vintage Antique Wire & Wood Dress Form - Mannequin on aTurned Wood Base
This is an antique dress form or mannequin made of wire on a turned wood base. The shoulders are wood with a wood dowel down the middle that fits into the base. There are wire loops in the top of the turned part and also on the base for strings to hold the wire form in place. At one time it was covered in burlap. It is 58" tall. The base is about 21" tall and 16" wide. The wire form is 16" by 14" across the bottom, 13" by 10" at the waist, and 14" by 11" at the bust. It is 15" wide at the shoulders.

The bottom half has a the same fabric in a moveable stretchy tube. There is some rust on the metal pieces here and there. But is in good shape. I have not tried to adjust this. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE STAND AND DRESS FORM ARE NOT ORIGINAL TO EACH OTHER. This is an older dress form with a great look. It is a nice slender small size. It says Model 1951 10. Palmenberg Cavanaugh in nice writing. The stand was added at one time and is metal and says Hall Borchert Dress Form New York and it was painted white. The tan covered fabric has minor stains. A few tears, minor fading, dirt and wear, as I show. At the top, a little of the stitching has come a little loose and there are some pins in there. This dress forms height is also adjustable and the bust spreads apart. Adjusts from 32 to a 39 inches at the bust and 34 to 41 inches at the hips. Stand goes from 34" to 57" tall. Form weighs over 14 lbs. Overall great condition. A little rust on the cast iron base. And the fabric is a little dirty from storage. There is one small hole(1/8" diameter) under the left breast. This dress form was made by Rite and has 16 adjustable sections. It is a size 1. Its adjustment ranges per the label are: Bust-32 to 42 inches. Waist-22 ½ to 32 inches. Hips-33 to 43 inches. It has a cast iron base with an adjustable height from 62 ½ inches high when adjusted all the way up and down to 35 inches high when lowered all the way down. The height measurements are to the knob on top. The knob on top is for the upper sections and the wing nuts on the inside are for the lower sections. It is used and in good condition but has some stains and signs of use as pictured. This is perfect for your sewing projects or for modeling your dresses.
