Hix Presto 15, 15" heat press with heat pad and pyrometer (contact thermometer)
This has been a great heat press. Its produced a lot of mouse pads and t-shirts and continues to work well. I put a new thermostat in it which works fine but I never calibrated it. Since I kept it at the same temperature I simply used a pyrometer(included. See pic) to set the thermostat to where it needed to be and left it. It can be calibrated to match the dials I just never did. At any rate I'm including the pyrometer as well as a heat pad which is useful for pressing relatively thick and incompressible surfaces such as light-switch covers, wooden clock faces, etc. Some old metal light switch covers were placed between the rubber pad and the legs serving as risers to increase pressure for doing t-shirts but the pad is still secure and stable and these can be removed if you don't need the extra pressure. Up for sale is a very nice used Hix Model 1620 Heat Transfer Swingaway Press with a copy of the original manual. It is used. But has been cleaned, checked out and is ready to be used. The Model 1620 Manual Transfer Machine is 120 volts 15 Amps, Swingaway 16” x 20” heat platen. I have installed a new line cord and plug on the heat press. All the other internal wiring is in excellent condition and there is no harding or cracking on the insulation of the wires. I ran this for about 1-1/2 hours bringing it up to 320 degrees. I set the thermostat at several different setting to insure that it would shut off and turn on as the platen heated or cooled and it worked perfectly. There is some wear on the platen surface and there are some chips to the rubber on the silicone rubber pad(see pictures) This item is for pickup only but I will make delivery ... morefree of charge for a 40 mile radius. This Heat transfer machine is in excellent condition. It has seen light use and will make a great addition to your shop. The only defect is on the lower- left edge of the heat plate there is a small area the size of half a dime that the teflon is not in tact. It is on the very edge and has been that way since shipped to me from Hix. There is a white smudge on the table but doesn't impact the functionality of the machine. The thermostat is adjustable and works good but it turns a little tight. Temperature gauge and timer also work good. But I have no way to determine the accuracy of the thermometer. You should test it with a thermometer gun so you don't destroy your shirts. The Indicator lights work. All of the mechanical parts move freely and function good. The press pad and heat pad look pretty good overall despite some discoloration on the black plate and a small corner of rubber missing in the back.
