9" South Bend JUNIOR Lathe Reversing Tumbler assembly
I believe this to fit South Bend 9" Jr. lathes. Made around 1924-1934. It includes a spacer ring that may allow it to fit later models of the Jr. This will NOT fit the later Workshop. 9A. 9B or 9C lathes. The OD of the mounting cylinder which slides into the headstock is 1.185" The largest gear is the compound. Which is 26T/16T. The OD of the 26T is 1.750. The idlers are both 22T with an OD of 1.50" Gear width is.500" The casting number on the main body is 9 635. Please use the above information to verify fit on your lathe. This assembly and each of it's parts is in excellent shape. There are no visible defects. The teeth are unworn. All parts have been cleaned and lubricated. There is no corrosion.

This is for a wood turning tool rest for the 9 inch and 10k light 10 inch metal cutting lathe made by South Bend Lathe. I have only found this listed in one of the old parts list I have from the 1930s or early 1940s no.30-b. It attaches to the cross slide and replaces the compound rest. The tool rest are 4 inches and 12 inches long. Please see the pictures. This came in with a s/b 9 inch that was made in the mid thirties and was with the same family all that time. Excellent condition quick change gear box for a Model A or B 9" SB lathe or a"light 10" 10K machine. I was going to use this myself. So I put in all NEW FELTS, and put on a brand new reproduction gear chart. It has some minor wear in the paint but overall is in really nice shape. Just bolt it on and go. It is missing one of the"cheese head" screws. But you can sub in a socket head cap screw if you turn down the head very slightly(since you have a lathe.
