The eye pi eces are adjustable by turning the central rubber wheel. They bear no makers marks and measure 2.75" long(3.75" when extended) by 4.25" wide. As you can see from the photos there is rusting to the metal on these glasses. Rubbing to the metal and soiling inside the lens. The mother of pearl is in good condition with no damage just slight rusting around the metal. The eye pieces move freely back and forth. This is a nice pair of pre-WWII era binoculars. They're probably goin g to date from the Boxer Rebellion to the Russo-Japanese War eras. They're made by Lemaire Fabt Paris. On the inside of the case lid it reads A. Meier& Cie Yokohama& Kobe. Both areas were naval ports. The owner wrote his name(Inoue) on the inside of the lid. Perhaps Inoue-san was in the navy. They are in great condition overall. Minor wear only. Looking through the lenses I can say they still work excellent and are very clear. The case is in good shape too. A little wear only. I found info on 3 employees: 1) Bade L. In 1906 he came to Japan to work for A. Meier& Cie. Yokohama# 24-A; besides their trading business the company especially acted as agent for the Bureau Veritas. Privatly he resided at first at# 59-B Bluff; but later he was transferred to the main seat of the company in Kobe. He died there and was buried in the Foreigners' Cemetery of Kobe. 2) Boden, Georg. In July 1899 he accepted the offer of the company A. Meier& Cie to work at their branch in Japan. He arrived in Yokohama aboard the steamer"Gerda" on October 12. 1897 and in Kobe on October 19, 1897. On October 30, 1897 he registered in the German Consulate, his registration was confirmed by the secretary of consulate, H. Lotz and immediately he started his work with Meier& Cie in their Kobe Branch office. 68, Kio-machi. In 1900 he became authorized signatory p. proc. and he worked for this firm until as such to 1905. This is a set of Crown Optical Co. Rochester, N.Y. U.S. WWI Navy Binoculars. They state on the frame, Military Stereo 6 x 30. Also, it has U.S. Navy with a serial number on the other side of the frame. There are small scratches and wear marks on the black frame. The brown grips seem in nice condition for it's age. The eye pieces rotate and the binoculars operate and focus as usual. They are heavy for their size.

I could not find another pair that specifically only has" PETAIN PARIS" At onetime they were part of HELLES Brand. But Helles does not appear anywhere on these. Text is in French and stamped Paris. This actually came in a large lot of WW2 items I obtained from a man who inherited a large collection from his Grandfather in Darmstadt. Germany. The case is missing the shoulder strap. The case is in good condition. It's worn. But still solid. No tears, holes or problems other than the wear that is visible in photos. World war 1 Binoculars
These Items are both World War 1 Binoculars and definately for the collectors out there. The first pair are Deraisme Paris. Day drop 8x30, made in France, owed by an A. Shaw of Essex. The Case and Binoculars are in fairly good condition considering thier age, nothing broken that I can see just worn with age. The second pair are Binocular Prismatic No. 3 Mk 2's. Magnification 6, No. 34079, made by Kershaw& Son Ltd, Leeds in 1917. These are also in good condition just a little worn with age and No damage All original parts. Up for sale a vintage pair of military binoculars with its leather case. Manufactured in Paris by E. Krauss No. 48802 Stereo-Jumelle A.G.2376 I am not sure when they were manufactured but such binoculars were in use during WW I and WW II by French and other armies. This item looks almost identical to the Carl Zeiss Jena German WWI military army binoculars. E. Krauss was a French company that manufactured cameras and lenses. Founded in the late 1880s. Founder Eugen Krauss was the brother of Gustav Adolf Krauss Stuttgart's first camera retailer E. Krauss had a license to produce lens types of Carl Zeiss. When Leitz named its 35mm camera it preferred"Leica" instead of"Leca" for not to collide with the name of E. Krauss' French"L´Eka" Condition of the Binoculars: Visually: in good condition. Description Here is a nice pair of 19th century naval officers brass binoculars in good original working condition. The brass surface has a nice patina with dark areas from age. The four glass lenses are all in good condition. The main lenses measure 1.5 inches wide and have covers which slide over the top to prevent reflection from the sun on the waves and from the enemy seeing a reflection from the lenses also. The dial turns nicely opening and closing the telescopic tubes. In total measuring 6.3 inches long when fully open with covers out. These very stylish and possibly rare binoculars or field glasses are from a recent property refurbishment at the former home of Colonel Henry Somerset Parnell Hopkinson OBE and were discovered amongst many military items belonging to him and his father from WW1 and WW2. All of which will be listed this week. The other items pictured in my final photo will be listed seperately. These field glasses being produced in the late 20's by Moeller and are stamped"Somerset Hopkinson,Rifle Brigade" in which he was a captain in 1933 and are also marked Harrods. I am told that these Moeller prismatic binoculars are of the finest quality as would befit items retailed by Harrods in the 1920's and there is a certain irony that having been crafted in Germany. World War I Era Chevalle Paris Day & Night Binoculars With Case
The top is off the case and it does have some wear from age and use. The strap to carry the case is missing. The binoculars are in very good condition. There are a couple of small places on the leather which is brown. Otherwise they are in mint condition and do not look like they were used that much. They are 6 1/2 inches tall and 4 3/4 inches wide. Here's a very nice pair of Mt. Kilimanjaro Japanese Binoculars with case from the 1940s. My friend's dad was a Merchant Marine who traveled the world during the 1930s and 1940s and he got this during one of his journeys. There are covers on the lenses. The case is in great condition. The only thing I see wrong on the case is that there is a crack on the backside in the Mt. Kilimanjaro logo and a small piece that has come off(see the pictures) Hard to see unless you know where to look. Inside the case is red velvet and has the Mt. All most all of Rommel's 500 tanks were destroyed or captured. This one appears to be from a printed photo. Photo came from Colonel Norman P. Barnes who came from Eugene. Oregon, served in the American 3rd Infantry Division, and was awared the DSC. Apparently he got these photos from someone in the British 8th Army when he was serving in North Africa in 1943. Huet 8x30 TRINOLUX Wide Field French Foreign Legion Binoculars Original Case
You are bidding on a neat set of Huet. Paris binoculars. Probably late 1940's manufacture. These binoculars were in use by the French Foreign Legion as research bears out. They are in the original desert tan rubberized leather case. A very rugged case in excellent condition. Inside the lid it is marked A. LETRANGE EQUIPMENTS PARIS. Under the lid are two sets of additional eye pieces. One set is simply a set of rings. The other set are amber filters. These binos have a wide field of view which I believe to be(200/1000) They also have range finding markings within the right eyepiece. Optically. The right lens has some little black specs around the perimeter. Not sure if they are in the lens and would have to be polished off or if lens needs cleaning. I've never attempted to take binoculars apart before. It actually is only a bit distracting. ... moreOtherwise lens are actually quite clear. I won't call them crystal clear but darn close. They adjust fine. There are some chips in the black enamel paint. Obviously these have seen usuage. No"play" at the focus wheel. They are pretty tight in that regard.
