For your consideration is this vintage ABU Garcia Ambassadeur 4500C Baitcaster Reel made in Sweden. The reel is in excellent condition and working perfectly. It is very clean with no mechanical problems at all. On top of the reel it shows some minor cosmetic wear(see third image) probably from rubbing on the boat at some point. The original Abu handle is intact. One side of the reel is marked with the following, Abu Sweden along with a Ambassadeur 4500C Sticker" The bottom plate is marked with the serial number 770800 and initials BJ. This ABU has a narrow spool. If there wasn't the little bit of minor boat rash to the top I would rate the reel a 8.5 out of 10 in regards to condition with 10 meaning the perfect. Spool will hold approx. 210 yards 10# test line. This reel also has a 2 speed shifter and that's where I have a problem. I don't know how it's supposed to work. Everything works fine but there seems to be a great amount of drag noticeable when the handle is cranked and it only gets worse when the"shifter" is moved. A schematic found on the web seems to verify the handle assembly is correctly put together so I don't know what is wrong. You are buying a reel that looks like it was hardly used but. Very Good condition, appears to have had very good care and only normal usage. Good smooth retrieve 6.2: 1, solid star drag, positive free spool operation, cosmetically good, some scratches and paint loss on the casing, see the accompanying photos. The serial number is unknown. The reel weighs about 9 ounces. We will box and pack this item with multiple sheets of large bubble-wrap and surrounded by styrofoam peanuts. The shipping weight will be in the under one pound range. Has scuffs and scratches and some green corrosion but appears to function fine. The corrosion I could get to scraped off with my finger nail leaving shiny chrome. Could stand further cleaning as you can see. Spool rotates with no catching or skipping and line guide moves back and forth fully also with no skipping or sticking. Free spool button releases the spool and locks positively when the crank is turned like it should and the anti reverse also is working fine. See no model number.
