Both need work. The larger 5000 size reel spool does not engage and the smaller 4000 size reel is'sticky' when reeling. Dont have boxes for these. These are easy to work on or find places to fix for you(Bass Pro Shops. Southwestern Parts and Service, Reel Doctor,others) Greased and oil with Ardent Reel Butter and oil prior to being put up. Both are left handed with 6.3 retreive ratio. This is a vintage Abu Garcia Ambassadeur Royal Express casting reel. It is used and in perfect working condition and super smooth. Everything functions on this reel. It reels smoothly. Handle and handle knobs rotate smoothly, free spool engages cleanly, drag tightens and loosens perfectly, cast control is good, clicker is nice and loud, and line guide moves from side to side cleanly. All the decals are missing. And the Royal Express writing that should be on the front cross bar has faded off from reel use. The handle knobs have a unique design that allows for nice gripping on the handle. Great reel that has its wear throughout from use, but still functions perfectly and smooth. Please see all photos. But combines the options of thumbar spool release, HIGH SPEED 6.3:1 gears, 3 BB(2 spool bearings, 1 IAR bearing) as well as a line out alarm/ clicker( Clicker is very rare on 5 series reels) all together in a much rarer left-handed version.
