The reel has light wear and the labels are very nice for a Black Magnum model. With only slight rubs. Cranks very smoothly and all mechanical functions work well. Loads of features including the Fightin' Star drag. Flipping switch, and magnetic cast control. Comes with it's original box including inserts, parts diagram(no manual) warranty card, parts tube, and oiler. The box inserts have a couple of tears and someone has written some Beastmaster rod info on the inside of the box flap. According to Phil White's excellent reference book- Shimano Bantams: The First 15 Years(available at oldreels.com) the Black Magnum 201 FS was only catalogued between 1988-90. Everything works fine but there seems to be a great amount of drag noticeable when the handle is cranked and it only gets worse when the"shifter" is moved. A schematic found on the web seems to verify the handle assembly is correctly put together so I don't know what is wrong. You are buying a reel that looks like it was hardly used but. This is a vintage Shimano Bantam Black Magnum BKM-201-FS Baitcasting reel Made in Japan.This reel works excellent almost like new.The guide bar moves from side to side excellent.this has the fighting star drag on it,it does have some cosmetic wear on the lettering and shows light use.This belonged to an elderly Genteman who does not fish anymore and he took good care of his reels.These Japanese made shimanos were some of the best and if you take care of them they will last you a lifetime,they just dont make reels this quality anymore.
