Up for sale is a nice used Abu Garcia 5501 left handed baitcaster in great shape. The reel still works great and is very smooth. There is a little boat rash on it but nothing major. Came from the estate of a gentleman who took meticulous care of his reels and had many that were new in the box. This particular reel appears to be one of the new in box reels and is in mint conditon. Mechanically, the reel functions flawlessly and cosmetically, the reel has no discernable flaws. This reel does have the instant anit-reverse and comes with the manual and lube. The foot of the reel is marked 010506. This is, as previously stated, an awesome reel that is suitable for fishing or adding to a vintage tackle collection. And they can be purchased for around $4 here on eBay. I picked this nice reel up at an estate sale but unfortunately for me it is a Left Hand Reel. It is used but not abused looks and works great the spoon free spins you look at it and can tell it has never been fished in the salt water no rust. very clean! Please ask any questions!

The box also contains paperwork and an oil tube(that has leaked most of its contents into its unopened package. It has not leaked out) This is a left hand handle retrieve and cannot be switched to the right side. The reel shows no sign of use at all. There are smudges and some signs of its years in the box. But nothing related to use. The reel is completely functional with no mechanical problems. I would give this like new/older reel as close to a 100% as you will find. The box does show wear from age and storage, but it is structurally OK. It has the original owner's name and a price of $79.28 written in ink on the box.
