Shimano Bantam Mag 10SG Casting Reel Here is a quality Shimano Bantam Mag 10 SG(Super Gear) level-wind casting reel. The reel has light finish wear. Cranks very smoothly and all mechanical functions work well. Note the magnetic cast control and graphite V spool. According to Phil White's excellent reference book- Shimano Bantams: The First 15 Years(available at oldreels.com) this reel was the first black Bantam. Basically a budget version of the silver Bantam Mag 100 with bronze bushings instead of ball bearings. The Bantam 10 SG was only catalogued between 1983-84. This is a previously owned Shimano Cruzar CRZ 100 Casing Reel. It is very clean. Smooth turning and it works as designed. There is no Corrosion that I can see. There are some small scratches on the end cap opposite the crank end. See Pics. The reel looks almost unused and may not have been used much however it did have some line on it before I took the pictures. It is from an old Texas estate. I found this reel at an estate sale and it appeared to look pretty good so I picked it up and to my surprise it's one of the smoothest and and fully operational reels that I have handled in the last few months. The handle spins like a top. Guaranteed. Visually is where the issues are. Typical thumb wear and brassing on a used reel. As I said in the beginning, the reel is a winner when it comes to functioning, but for looks the fish can't see it anyway. Not happy then send it back for a full refund.
