Shimano Scorpion 1001 SVS 4X4 left-hand baitcasting reel with box. Manual, schematic and extra weights. This is the Japanese domestic market version of the Curado 101B. I purchased this reel and three others new in 2003 from Japan Tackle. It has seen considerable use, but has been regularly serviced and parts have been replaced as needed. The pinion bearing and roller clutch bearing were replaced three years ago with OEM Curado 101 parts. The spool bearings were replaced one year ago with Boca ABEC#5 Ceramic Hybrid Lightning bearings(with stainless steel shields) The gears have some wear, but included with this purchase is a brand new gear set(drive gear and pinion gear) The current gears are still in fishable condition, but are getting a little noisy/ rough under load. The reel also includes a Citica E handle assembly. This handle looks ... moreand feels great on the reel(similar to the newer 1001 XT) The original handle assembly is included as well. I would sell the reel for ten dollars less if you just want the original handle. The only mechanical defect other than gear wear is that the drag no longer clicks when adjusted. The tiny click pin mounted in the face of the star drag click plate was dislodged many years ago during cleaning and I never got around to replacing it. The reel does have a fair amount of boat rash/scratches from use, but still looks decent out on the water. Will be carefully packaged and shipped promptly via Priority Mail.
