This reel has landed many fish but only in freshwater. It is sound mechanically but the exterior shows how well it has been performed. I would trust it to catch any Northwest fish. The reel comes loaded with good 12 pound monofiliment line and the everything showing has been cleaned well. The reel looks used but it is not dirty with oil or fishing related residues. The crank is smooth. 5 Ball Bearings Star Drag Spool tensioner. A New Cardiff 301A would cost $90-100. On a personal rating scale of 1-10. With 2 being worthless, I rate this a 5- good for a few seasons of moderate use. Longer if kept oiled and not used in salt.

Both reels left-handed and in solid working condition and both come with braid on the spool(the Extreme has 30# Stren super braid and the Cardiff has#40 Stren super braid- they might have some mono backing however) Extreme reel has a 6.4:1 gear ratio. Lot of 3 shimano cardiff 300a. All have normal use and external wear with some scuffs and a few light nicks. 1 is missing the middle piece of the line guide but other than that it is mechanically sound. 1 is in good shape and mechanically sound. 1 is messed up to were the thumb bar is engaged and will not disengage when turning the handle so I'm not sure what happened and if it is able to be fixed or parted out. Im not reel Savy but if someone would take the line guide off the reel that is not disengaging then 2 of the reels would be fishing ready. All are freshwater use only and always stored inside. The reel is used(I used it for one full season) and does show normal signs of wear including minor scratches, a couple nicks on top and it is missing one screw on the right side. The reel however is in perfect working condition and comes with new 80lb Power Pro line. I put the line on the reel this season, went out fishing and on day one of the new season one of my three rods broke so this has been sitting on the shelf since. The reel was always stored with the drag and line tension loosened. The reel was cleaned and re-lubed at the end of last season.
