We didn't put the rod together since it has never been assembled thought we would let the new owner decide whether to assemble or leave it displayed like it is. There is no markings on the rod and we are possible an unmarked Shakespeare rod? Along with the rod is a Pflueger Akron reel with matching handle to the rod. This is an excellent example of this great reel. Mechanically. The reel functions flawlessly with all operations checked. Cosmetically, the reel is in outstanding condition with nice black color to the finish and bright vivid graphics. The reel appears to have seen little to no use so there are minimal flaws. The left metal side cover has no discernable flaws. The right sid cover has a small spot on the top of the right side cover and some light oxidation. All plated components are bright and shiney. All flaws identified are minor so this reel is very suitable for fishing or adding to a vintage tackle collection. This is a versatile Pinnacle 6 Bearing Bait Caster which can be used to catch a myriad of fish. Here in Maine. This has helped land some Pickerel, nice Smallmouth, Football sized Largemouth and Hornpout(Catfish) The reel has performed well and is of a good build and quality, I just keep drifting back to spinning gear. On a side note, this is my first year trying fly fishing, now that is an adventure! vintage ambassadeur 1021 plus baitcasting reel. this was the first baitcaster i ever owned. circa 1987-1990 foot is not marked as it was replaced under warrantty at metropolitan repair(bass pro shops) in springfield missouri. the first and last time i used braided line on the hookset the reel snapped the foot at the rod seat. this reel has the option of thumbar or button release. The bait feeder still works perfect. There is still a small piece of the lever to operate it so it is still very usable. Pinnacle Vision bait casting reel. In excellent shape. Great bass and crappie reel. Last is a fairly beat up bait casting reel. I do not know the brand or model of this reel although it is very similar to an Abu Garcia 6500. used abu garcia 1021 plus reel from around 1990. the foot is unmarked as it was replaced several years ago as it broke on a hookset using braided line.so did the rod) my last use of braid while bass fishing. reel works but it does need a major cleaning as it is getting stiff. this reel has a flipping switch and the ability to use thumbar or button. i prefer the button when throwing crankbaits. this was the top of the line low profile reel when introduced. again the reel does need to be cleaned and lubed.
