Up for auction is this used Shimano Curado baitcasting reel. It's a left-hand retrieve model No. CU-201. With a 6 to 1 retrieve ratio, and 5 bearings. It has never been used in saltwater and has been well maintained. This is one of 6 I have fished with for years- I obviously love the Curado model- high quality without costing you an arm and a leg. Regardless, I'm cutting down on my tackle and this one is now ready for a new home. It is practicall blemish free and everything works as it should. With that said, I can feel a very slight'roughness' when I crank the reel. I'm not sure if it is in the gears, bearings, or whatever- and it is just a very slight sensation that I feel is slightly different than my other reels. With any other reel, I may never have even given this a second thought. Accordingly, I have made my opening ... morebid relatively low. Shimano Bantam Black Magnum 201FS Casting Reel Here is a quality Shimano Bantam 201 FS(Fightin' Star) left hand wind level-wind casting reel. The reel has light wear and the labels are very nice for a Black Magnum model. With only slight rubs. Cranks very smoothly and all mechanical functions work well. Loads of features including the Fightin' Star drag. Flipping switch, and magnetic cast control. Comes with it's original box including inserts, parts diagram(no manual) warranty card, parts tube, and oiler. The box inserts have a couple of tears and someone has written some Beastmaster rod info on the inside of the box flap. According to Phil White's excellent reference book- Shimano Bantams: The First 15 Years(available at oldreels.com) the Black Magnum 201 FS was only catalogued between 1988-90. This reel has the date LH ... morestamped on the foot. Made in August, 1987. Gear ratio is 5:1, it weighs 9.4 ounces and holds 210 yards of 10 lb. test line. A nice reel to collect or use! REAL nice vintage Shimano Bantam Magnumlite SPEEDMASTER left hand bass casting reel. Model 2201SG Super Gears super high speed LEFT HAND retrieve 6.1-1.This reel is in excellent cosmetic condition for its age with 90+ percent of its original graphics intact- the only blemish is a spot on the sideplate next to the magnet control knob. It looks like a chemical(plastic worm goo? melted it. It looks like surface goo that could be scraped off but I am not going to do it-reel is too nice all the rest of the way around. All systems properly working. Anti reverse on/off fish saver switch. Free spool with disengaging levelwind. Precision balanced lighweight aluminum spool. Entire reel was super high tech at the time made of lightweight graphite and titanium components. Ball bearings were replaced with new prcision bearings and lubed with red rocket ... moreoil. Reel is smooth and fast and everything works. All around a very nice RARE LEFTY vintage Shimano Magnumlite bass reel. Made in Japan

This is a Shimano Bantam right handed reel. It is in good condition. It has scratches from use and boat/fishing wear. I cleaned and lubed this reel with frog lube. It had line on it and after cleaning and lube(removed) I adjusted it for casting a 1/2 oz. lure. It cast perfectly and cranked perfect and was smooth as silk with no problems I could see or feel at all. I am selling this reel"as is" It seems to work perfectly in every aspect and if I were right handed I would keep this reel for my self. I have worked on and serviced reels for 25 years and this one is top of the line in my opinion in quality and workmanship and I would 10 to 1 rather have this reel than any other reel made.it's just that good and reliable. I have a lefty I have used for over 20 years and it is still performing perfectly.there is just something about ... morethese older reels you can not get in the new ones. It's kind of like a carbed engine versus a electronic ignition.no comparison IMO. NOTE: Adjustment is everything on these reels. And it is set perfectly now for 1/2 oz. lures. Please contact me if you have any problems with future adjustments on this one or any of your reels. I bet I can save you a lot of $ just by telling you how to adjust. Don't forget the golden rule of adjustment for these kinds of level winds.Always start with 5 on magnetic controls. and go up if windy or raining. Wind and rain acts like weight on the line and will always cause a backlash if not adjusted to compensate. Always adjust knob on side so that lure falls SLOWLY if shaken from tip of rod. If you do this, you should never have any problems. Keep PAWL(line guide) lightly oiled and if you remove side knobs or any other parts, please stay away from water when doing so. This reel has been upgraded to be like a Shimano Curado 200 with upgraded bearings in the left side plate, the right side plate and the spool shown in the second picture with the reel broke down, these are the Shimano ABEC 5 High Performance bearings, also the roller bearing has been replaced with a new one that is in the right side plate under the handle and the bushing on the end of the handle shaft as been replaced with an upgraded bearing making this reel have 4 bearings and one roller bearing like the Shimano Curado 200. Up for sale I have a used Chronarch 101A Left-Handed Baitcasting reel. This is an excellent and extremely smooth reel for its age. And has served me well through many tournaments. It is missing the Handle nut plate the goes over the nut, as i took it off so many times to clean the reel! I just flushed and re-lubed the bearings two days ago, and mechanically the reel is performing 10/10. It also does not have the sticker on the front of the reel that says"Chronarch" This clearly does not affect your performance with the reel, and it is ready to serve another angler day in and day out.
