There are just a very few small nicks. I have tested the reel on the bench and everything appears to funtion correctly. It cranks smooth. The spool spins freely, and the drag feels strong. Alright. OK.you see the pictures. This is a really nice reel. Yes its used. I have caught some pretty good size fish with this bad boy. It has one very little issue which is that you have to start the free spool with your thumb each time you cast. I don't know too much about reels, but I know this is a minor issue, because it did not stop me for fishing at any time, nor did it slow me down, but I had to mention that in this description. Everything else is perfect on this reel! You know the rest. it is absolutely a fish gettin' machine. Comes with power handle and 300 yds of braided line, an extra thumb rest& oil in the BOX! It is very smooth casting with a strong. Dependable drag system. I used this reel only once on a fishing trip to the Brazilian Amazon. There it held up very well against giant peacock bass and catfish.
