The end of the handle that looks chipped is intact-that's just a color swirl. One end is marked with Abu Ambassadeur No 5000 Aburfabriken Svangsta Sweden. Vintage Abu Ambassadeur 5000C High-Speed Baitcasting Reel with Box and Extras For sale is what I first believed to be a rare(mismarked) Abu Ambassadeur 5000C baitcasting reel in nice condition. Sideplate is marked only with 5000 at the bottom with no C after the 5000. It is made in Sweden. When I first researched it. I had found information that there were a few mismarked in production that left the factory marked like this one. After listing it a fellow ebayer emailed suggesting checking the endcaps for bushings or bearings(5000C had bearings) After checking it does seem to me to have the bushings. I can only assume it was mis-packaged or is just in the wrong box. I am not an expert, so please see all photos for condition along with doing your own research. Includes original box, papers, tool and reel oil(oil has leaked from the container ... morebut just in its small plastic bag not in box) Operationally it works perfectly; left in"as found" condition for your personal cleaning. Nice older reel for fishing or to add to your personal collection. The serial number is#750404 I believe making this an early 1975 reel with a 70's 5000C box having the RED C. I have two great reels listed this week from an estate of a collector so please see my other listings. Also. I will be adding others in the next few weeks.
