This is the HP 3580A that we used here at Amplifier Experts. It's in perfect working order and is in reasonably good calibration for its age. All functions work. Including tracking generator, which is built in. The power supply has new capacitors of slightly larger value. Improving on the noise floor of the unit at line frequency-related harmonics. 0Hz feedthrough after warmup is about-58dB. There are many spectrum analyzers that have higher frequency extension. But this one has one capability that the others lack: 1Hz resolution bandwidth. Note the 20Hz screen shot-it can totally sepate the second harmonic of this function generator from its fundamental. Newer 3Hz BW SAs can barely see a weak second harmonic of 20Hz. So if your needs involve measuring woofer distortion at low frequencies, this is the analyzer best suited to task.
