With optional mixers not included) Intelligent Markers Internal Reference Oscillator Digital Storage 120 V. to 240 V. Operation This is Tektronix's top of the line model in their 490 Series. I have completely re-conditioned this analyzer to excellent operational and physical condition. It only has about 1500 hours of use on the elapsed time meter. Which means it has spent most of it's life on a shelf. The CRT is bright and sharp. All the functions work properly. It passes all module calibrations and built-in calibration routines. My re-conditioning includes replacing all the high voltage caps in the power supplies. I check the signal transfer from the RF input to the output of the 3rd Converter and replace any parts that have excessive loss on the RF deck. I check the operational parameters of all the circuit modules and replace any defective components. I disassemble the front panel and replace any defective push button switches and parts on the circuit board. I have re-conditioned the cabinet to like new condition.Take a close look at the pics I have included. You won't find a nicer Tek 494AP spectrum analyzer anywhere! This Unit was purchased new. By my wife, somewhere around 1990. It was a Christmas Present, so it was extra special, and has had very good care. I am in the Two Way Radio business, and I wanted something that could look at the bare spectrum and also tune cavities and duplexers. This was perfect for me. I used it for a few years and then bought some other more elaborate equipment, at which time this unit went on the shelf. I can tell you that it probably does not have more than 10 hours of service on it in the past 20 years. It is in excellent cosmetic condition, with the original user manual. The screen is bright, all the controls work, and it seems to be in excellent conditon, overall(look at the pictures) As with any piece of electronic equipment that is old. There are no warranties, other than it is. Certainly working now. And I will double ... morebox the unit for shipment. But, it is old and I would not want to misrepresent its status. The 10 MHz reference signal was set with a Trak Systems 8821 GPS Clock. Frequency and level calibration was checked against a calibrated R&S SMT-02 and found to be well within specification. There is no formal calibration sticker This analyzer was intermittently used in the field rather than left"cooking" on a test bench. It is therefore clean inside and has low hours but has some external nicks and dings. Not bad though. See the pictures This analyzer has very deep menu levels. I've been pretty far into it and everything I have tried to use works as intended but I don't know for sure that every little function is perfect as I am used to regularly using another make ... moreand model. Serial#B021716 One Tektronix 2710 Spectrum Analyzer 10KHz to 1.8Ghz The analyzer passes all self tests and has bright crisp display. The last calibration sticker was July 1995 so that might be due! It is not grossly out of calibration and could be used as is. At 900MHz at 0.0dBm on a calibrated R&S SMT-02 the analyzer marker reads about 2 KHz low and 1.2 dB lower than expected. This analyzer was carried by a radio technician and has more dings and bumps than average. Note the ding in the plastic below the knob area. The unit is clean inside and appears to have moderate hours. See the pictures This analyzer has very deep menu levels. IFR A-8000 10kHz - 2.6GHz Spectrum Analyzer
Unit is in fairly good physical condition. As far as we know there are no parts missing. Unit initializes normally. First displaying the IFR logo and then moves next to the spectrum monitoring screen. We connected the input of the unit to the 100 MHz test output on the front panel and the displayed wave form was as expected. We used a signal generator to input signals at 1 MHz. 10 MHz, and 1GHz; in each case the resulting waveform was as expected. In other words, the amplitude and frequency were correct. Even though the unit appears to be functioning properly, we cannot guarantee that it is calibrated properly or that it is without problems. Sold AS-IS. No returns, no warranty.
