I have since lost interest in this work(preferring HF) so I need to pass it on. The display is bright and sharp. And all of the main features of the instrument work fine with one exception. The plastic part of the Frequency Span/Div knob is missing, with the brass hub remaining. However, due to the interlocking behavior of the Span and Resolution BW knobs, both of these controls can be set any way you want by pushing/pulling the Res BW knob. In fact, most of the time it is best to leave them locked so that the Span and Res BW will track in an optimum fashion. These settings are displayed on the screen. I have used the analyzer up to about 3 GHz. And the levels and spectrums have been consistent with expected behavior. The input step attenuator and level control also behave in a consistent manner. The storage feature and peak hold appear to be working fine. There are some other features such as the HP-IB connection and rear panel outputs that I have not used. Overall this instrument is in very nice condition. As shown in the pictures. It will be shipped with the front handles installed to protect the controls. Note that most of the pictures were taken without the handles.

Excellent condition. Have had it for about 4 years. Been sitting in storage. Fired it up and it's still as accurate as when I repaired and calibrated it 4 years ago. Can only now test it at to10Mhz- 2.6Ghz.10.5Ghz and 18Ghz. I know shipping is a bit much but it weights over 80lbs. Our refurbished equipment prices may be more than other models for sale because we take the risk out of buying used equipment. Many of the models of test equipment we refurbish and sell are fully tested and repaired if needed. In the process they are disassembled and thoroughly cleaned and inspected for suspect components and or corrosion. Other sellers equipment is often labels as 100% testing and working but do they really spend the time to test it completely and thoroughly inspect it. HP 8593E Spectrum Analyzer This unit is in great cosmetic condition, it is missing the bumper rails and the handle. I noticed a slight trace of rust on two steel screws on the back of the unit so I decided to pull the panel to have a peak at the innards. There is some oxidation on two of the circuit boards. It powers on with no hesitation and it stayed powered on for about 5hrs. It seems to function as intended and runs through the self calibration normally. After 5hrs. There was no indication of damage on the oxidized boards. Please review photos. I took some with the cover off. This auction is for the pictured item/s only.
