I dropped the buy it now price by 20 bucks. This would be hard to build for that. Completely Performance Rebuilt Abu Garcia 6500 c3 foot number 991014 48. 6 bearing round Abu Garcia Reel. New features: Completely new dual bearing line guide assembly- All parts in the line guide assembly are new including a ceramic pawl and dual bearings. New power handle Completely rebuilt drag with brand new Carbontex drag washers dressed with Cals drag grease. Brand new cog/ pinion gear with a bearing! New Boca Orange abec 7 ceramic spool bearings. The effort: The reel was completely degreased using carb cleaner. Acetone, canned air, and finally a toothbrush and liquid detergent. The appropriate cleaner was used. Based on the part material. Basically, a double degreasing. On the Boca Bearings. I removed the end caps, degreased them, and put a single drop ... moreof Reel X. You can use any performance oil you would like. Keeping the caps on these bearings does nothing more than trap water and build up debris. Spool bearings tend to be way over lubed. It will drastically affect your casting. I brushed on Cals grease to the brake plate and completely put the reel back together. Using Reel X and Cals. You can see the detail taken from the pictures. Also note the picture that has the Power Handle on the paper towel. Every part on that photo is new. Also. All plastic gears were replaced, as mentioned before, one of them was available with an actual bearing. The price for the new parts is over 80 dollars. Just have a look around you can easily check. As you can see. I will not be making big money on this. I did, however, get to build a really nice reel! In many ways this reel is better than new. Abu Garcia is great. But the have to protect themselves from abuse by putting way to much grease on their parts. As you may know. There are no 6500 c3's with six bearings. That is only on a few of their top of the line reels. Also using an Abec 7 ceramic spool bearing. And a ceramic pawl, makes this reel way better than stock. I spooled it up w

Removed thumb rest for better"thumbing" of the spool. Longer casting, and easier access to backlash(just in case) replaced side plate screws and installed new level-wind. This reel is loaded with lead core line, which makes it great for trolling, without having to use down riggers! Lead core line isn't cheap, but no other line will do what it can do, or put on standard line, cause these reels will cast great also! Made in Sweden. Almost like new 6501cl3. Notice in the picture. Tiny scuffs on the right sideplate. I've had this reel since it was new.and besides practice casting it a few times in my pond, I don't think I've ever fished it. It's been stored with the drag loosened. The drag is smooth and the reel is almost in perfect shape. I think the CL3 means it was a Rocket version. But I'm not sure. 5:3:1 Gear ratio.
