The Berkley rod is a medium-heavy 7 foot Spinning rod. My dad caught a 40 inch northern pike on the rod. He had a huge closed face Zebco reel on it back then. I later used it with the Shimano reel on carp and muskins. The 7 foot rod is great for casting long distances even in the surf.
