Up for auction today I have a 1970's Popeil Pocket Fisherman Spin Cast Outfit rod and reel combo and The Fish Grip which is for securing fish while cleaning. Both are well used but are in great condition. The rod and reel combo fully collapses(as seen in picture) and hooks on your belt. It has a small open and close compartment on top of the handle for extra tackle(hooks and sinkers) not included. It has an adjustable drag setting on the reel. Everything works like new. Fully opened it measures about 17" in length, 9" when shut. After you catch your fish, you'll need The Fish Grip to grip it for quick and easy scaling, filleting or skinning. But is in good condition and works. Fishing line could probably be replaced. Especially as it is likely original to this 1972 item! Perfect for traveling. Boating, flying, driving.great size for a fisherman who is on the go and likes to travel light but with a fishing pole! No box. Instructions or paperwork. Item shows wear and tear. Seems to be in good working condition. Never tested for actual casting, but the line goes in and out, which we tried repeatedly to be sure. Could probably use new fishing line.

The premise behind this outfit was a store and take anywhere all-purpose fishing rod to be used for the impromptu fishing outing! The brown reel mechanism measures 9" long. With a rod length of 8" The reel spins okay but I did not try to cast with it so assume the item the overall condition is"as-is. The bobber and hook are missing but the line is intact. The plastic case shows sign of normal wear and usage and the white parts have faded to a cream/yellow-ish color. Comes with manual and in the original box. The box was on a shelf in a garage for 40 years so its a little dirty but still overall a great package!
