It is older but still in great condition for its age. It has only had 1 owner its whole life and they have never had any problems with it. It has been tested and is fully functional. It will come with the 2 attachments and 5qt bowl you see in the photos. This nice Hobart has only had 1 owner and was purchased new by her many years ago. She used it in her little cookie shop. She has taken pretty good care of it and has never had any problems with it. It does show some signs of use. But don't let that fool you, there is nothing wrong with it and it works great. All 3 speeds work as they should with no problems. I know some of these you can change the speed while its running, but this one you can not. You have to pick the speed you want before turning it on. The lever to raise the bowl works nice and smooth also. I don't know what the maintance is on these mixers. What that it involves, but since I don't know the maintance history on this machine I would recommend getting it checked or lubed even though it works just fine. I need to explain a couple things before we get too far along. First: This has nothing to do with a Hobart mixer. I just put Hobart in the title to capture people looking for their larger mixers! Second: I listed this as"for parts or not working" because I do not know if it works and I am unable to test it because I do not have access to 3 phase power. You may just need to put a new plug on it and it may work just fine or the motor may be blown. I just do not know. I purchased it at a liquidation auction of a restaurant supply business that went under. It was sitting in the back and not on the showroom floor. I do not know if it was in for repair or was a trade in on a new mixer or what. They are over $21.000 new here on eBay, Amazon and ckitchen with a $34,000 new retail price(they won’t let me include a link to it but just look ... moreit up) These are not the cheap Chinese Hobart knockoffs but made in the USA with parts from Denmark. It is a monster and is about 6 1/2' tall. It weighs about 1.300 lbs. Even if it does need $1,000 in repairs it would still be a steal at a fraction of the cost of a new one or even a used Hobart 140qt. It is in really good shape visually except the wear on the face plate above the"on" indicator light. Sorry there is no bowl or attachments. Third: I listed it as local pickup only because it would be $800-$1300 to have it freight shipped. It is still strapped to my trailer(sorry that is also why I was unable to get any good pictures at a distance) and I would consider delivering it within a 150mi radius of Orange County. In other words, it has the same model number as Hobart's 140 quart mixer, but it uses an 80 quart bowl and attachments. The key is that"DD" in the model number. It stands for Dunkin' Donuts. It is my understanding that the DD models are made up of the traditional V1401 body and its exclusive 5 hp motor, but setup with an 80 quart bowl and hook, instead of a 140 qt. bowl and hook. So, essentially, this mixer is a Hobart M802(their 80 quart mixer) with a 5 horsepower motor. Our V1401DD comes with a stainless steel 80 quart bowl and an 80 quart dough hook attachment. But, because of that monster motor, it can take on the heaviest doughs with aplomb not seen in most, if not all, other 80 quart mixers on the market. Besides the smaller bowl and attachment size, the rest of this mixer is pure V1401.
