Sheldon 10" Lathe Steady Rest #K575
This is a used Sheldon 10" lathe steady rest. It's been cleaned and repainted. All the parts move freely and all the hardware is original. The base is about 6" wide. The center bore is about 3-1/2" The part# is K575 on the bottom casting and K576 on the top. The bed clamp and bolt is missing but one could easily be made. Very well made and heavy. Good paint job(parts were disassembled and cleaned. No paint on machined surfaces) See the matching follower rest I have in another auction that came from the same lathe. Here is a Sheldon lathe used by the us navy about ww2. In great shape. I have used weekly for the last two years. Everything works perfectly and is still tight. Has been upgraded to a better belt. Bore through spindle is 1 1/8" Bed is 44" swing is 10" Has two heads included, a 4 and 3 jaw. Also has a drill chuck, dead center, and center support.
