Lathe tool post hoder rocker and Boring bar holder Armstrong, Southbend logan
Tool post rocker type holder. I think it came off of a 12 or 14 inch southbend but not sure. The bottom dia. that fits in the compound is 1 1/2 dia(please note that a portion is ground off but should still work fine) and the holder shaft is 1.20 inches and the concave ring is 3 inch dia. The boring bar holder is for a 3/4 inch boring bar and is an Armstrong. Fits this tool post holder. it is 1.20 inches wide by 1/2 inch thick and 6 inches long. Priority mail flat rate of 5.85 in USA. Armstrong Boring Bar Tool Post Metal Lathe Machinist Southbend Logan Clausing
Nice Armstrong 1B boring bar toolpost with holes for 5/8" 3/4" 1-1/8"bars. Comes with 1 boring bar as you see in pictures. Previous owner was a retired toolmaker with a Southbend lathe and a Clausing lathe. I am not sure which lathe this came off of but like any toolpost you will purchase there is a chance you will have to modify or remake the plate to fit you carriage. It is not a very big piece of metal to make and can be done with a file by even a novice so please do not ask me to measure this one to see if you can just put it in your lathe. Just plan on doing a little modification and then if you don't have to. Be super happy. Check out my other listings for more great tooling finds.
