I purchased this fence controller new two summers ago. Paid $300 for it. It was used a couple of months that summer with no problems and was then turned off and sat until this year. I realized a few weeks ago it is now not working. Selling as-is. I have no idea what might be wrong with it. Don't want to mess with it. It may be something simple for all I know. This is used and stoped working a couple years ago when was accidently knocked on the ground. It was cracked/broke by the red positive conector on the bottom. The Solar part looks good, i removed the battery as i am sure it was bad by now and misplaced the bottom battery cover, if i can find the battery cover i will send it with it. It works very well for its intended purpose. When fully charged by the sun it provides a shock that. In my experience, will keep in most domestic animals. With regard to the 10 mile indication on the unit, if you have fencing experience you will recognize that that is for a clean line with no dead shorts or grounds. If you plan to run through 500 yards of wet weeds, then this is not the fencer for you. If, on the other hand, you plan to use this unit on a clean line, then it should keep in domestic livestock, including sheep, cows, and the like.
