HOL DEM ELECTRIC FENCER MODEL 57 in original box. These items are in their original packaging and the paperwork is in the box with the"charger" The charger measures 11 1/2" x 7 1/2" x 4 5/8" deep. It does not look like it has been hung outside as I do not see any rust. The original Hol Dem sticker/paper is still on the back of the unit. The other original box contains a Studded"T" Post Connector Kit for faster fencing. 20 Complete Insulator assemblies as seen in pics. The outer box and sticker/paper on top of box shows age and wear. There is some weight to both boxes thus the higher shipping. If this item was ever used it was minimal for the condition seen. Please ask any questions prior to bidding. I will ansewr as best I can. The front has an on/off switch. Power on light, fence condition light and the two main line fuses. It was taken apart and cleaned up and looks pretty good. Farm Products Group Hol-Dem model 57 electric fencer. Electric fence controller? Whatever. 12" wide. 8" tall, 6" deep. Very good physical condition. As far as I can tell. This unit is unused. I don't live on a farm or have a fence to electrify. But I do have a multimeter. When I turned on the Hol-Dem, the fence signal LED lit up, and the power signal LED remained dark. I tested the voltage across the terminals and it was a steady 448VAC. The I turned the unit off and back on again. And after that things went haywire. The fence signal LED went out, and the power signal LED started to flash. The voltage reading began to fluctuate. I also noticed a bit of a burning smell. I'm certainly not an expert on electric fencers. But my guess is that the capacitor and/or the coil are dried out from age. I can't say for sure. ... moreDue to the questionable results of my testing. I'll sell this fencer untested, as-is, as a non-working unit for parts or repair or display. I'm glad to combine shipping whenever it's feasible(really large or heavy items usually can't be combined) I will ship this item within the United States only. Vintage HOL DEM FENCE CHARGER ELECTRIC MODEL 57 FENCER HOLDEM
Cool old USA made HOL DEM Model 57 electric fence charger. I plugged it in and after about 15 seconds the red lights on front cycle on and off. I connected a multimeter to the posts on them bottom and when the lights cycle on I was getting a voltage spike from the posts(too quick to get an exact reading.
