Electric Fence Controller WD 56 Weedchopper for Farm and Home
I used this around a vegetable garden and it worked great. Keeping out the vegetable-eating varmints. I kept the controller just inside the garage door and ran a single insulated wire to the garden fence, then ran the fence wire from there around the garden. It's the pulsing kind. Not the constant current kind. It really did"chop" the weeds/tall grass with zaps. Use w/ 17 gauge electric fence wire and either plastic or porcelain insulators. I just plugged it in and checked it-works fine. The check light works. Too. This is NOT for use with dog training.

Up for auction is a Buffalo Grip No. 1 wire puller. It has“WESTERN ELECTRIC” stamped on it. I can not read the patent date but the other one I have says 1911. It has a patina on it. See photo. It is in relatively good condition for a 100 Year old tool, and works good. I am not sure of the maximum load but judging by others of this size it should be over 1000 pounds. Coast to Coast Electric Fencer Charger Controller Used. Excellent condition. Works the same as it did when it came out of the box many years ago. It's the older transformer type so it's not rated in miles of fence. The instant arc type need that designation because the fence itself acts like a capacitor and absorbs that instantaneous arc and the longer the fence the less effective they become. The old transformer type like this are far less susceptible to this phenomenon. Also these older types will actually burn off weeds and are less susceptible to lightning damage. The nameplate says Coast to Coast but I'm pretty sure Holdem made it and that's the only type I will ever use and I've been doing cattle for over a half century. The plug in chopper on the bottom is brand new and they usually last about 5 to 10 years. They ... morewere getting tough to find for awhile but now with internet that isn't such a problem. The two hot terminals are high power and low power and were principally designed for use where the high was for the fence and the low was for the cow trainers in the barn to encourage the cattle to back up a little in their stanchions to make their deposit in the gutter and not where they would lay down in it. It's slow make and break type and one of the lights indicates that the fencer is on and working and the other indicates if the fence is shorted out by the reed canary in the north swamp. 2 Used Electric Pumps Both pumps run when plugged in and seem to work fine but I am selling for parts only since I didn't do a prolonged test. Farm Products Group Hol-Dem model 57 electric fencer. Electric fence controller? Whatever. 12" wide. 8" tall, 6" deep. Very good physical condition. As far as I can tell. This unit is unused. I don't live on a farm or have a fence to electrify. But I do have a multimeter. When I turned on the Hol-Dem, the fence signal LED lit up, and the power signal LED remained dark. I tested the voltage across the terminals and it was a steady 448VAC. The I turned the unit off and back on again. And after that things went haywire. The fence signal LED went out, and the power signal LED started to flash. The voltage reading began to fluctuate. I also noticed a bit of a burning smell. I'm certainly not an expert on electric fencers. But my guess is that the capacitor and/or the coil are dried out from age. I can't say for sure. ... moreDue to the questionable results of my testing. I'll sell this fencer untested, as-is, as a non-working unit for parts or repair or display. One is missing a light lens but I would think that in the worse case scenario you could part one out to the other and get a good one.
