Hobart Handler MIG welder model 6869 similar to a Hobart 140 mig welder
This is an older Hobart Handler 6969 that has been in operation for about 15-20 years. It is currently in non-working order. It recently started giving me problems and was not feeding wire at all. I had a friend troubleshoot and we found that two of the diodes were bad. I replaced the two diodes and the welder worked for another 3 sessions of welding when it stopped feeding wire once again. Rather than continue to try and repair this welder I decided to buy a new one. They don’t make welders like this any longer and this unit has done more that its share of work. This could have some life left in it but I just don’t have the time to continue to invest in this welder. I would prefer a pickup only but will ship this for $68 if you are the winning bidder. It would operate the randomly just turn off, they just put NEW circuit board in, my cost $665. Work mint. I just replaced with bigger version to do thicker metal. This can be converted to run off 230v also, I do not have adapter plug though. I have not used internal tank so that will need to be filled. I have hose and regulator that I ran off large bottle. This appears to be in good usable condition however I do not know if it works or if it is all the year. This was found in an abandoned storage unit and it came in this box with tramafet instructions but the tool says Miller on it. Fence repair, built a trailer with it, and did some repairs on my truck. I am going to buy much bigger welder, so that is why I am selling it. It was having feeding issues, so I bought a new roller guide, roller bearing, and new liner. It turns out that the feeding issue was with the actual gun hose itself(it ... morehad been kinked) So it was causing the liner to kink sometimes. I bought a brand new mig gun with hose for it, and a new liner and it welds super smooth now(have used it 2-3 times since putting the new gun on it) There have been no other issues with this welder. And its a miller so you know its good. It will weld 24 ga sheet metal to 3/16th" on a single pass, thicker if you bevel the metal. I think its"rated" for 3/16ths inch. Ill post up some pictures of the welder later on. It is in good shape and will last a long time. Esp with all those new genuine miller parts I put in it. This also accepts the bigger 11-12 lb rolls of wire so you save money in the long run if you do a lot of welding with it. You are bidding on a well used Chicago Electric"MIG 100" Th i s is flux core welder and does not use gas. This i s a 11 0/120 Unit. T his unit is approximately 5-years-old and it was last used about a year-ago. Howe ver. B efore listing the welder. I plugged it in and it fired right up. It could probably use fresh flux core wire. I am selling the welder because I am doing more body work and needed a true gas welder. The welder works well for what it is; however. These flux core welders do not work well on thin sheet metal. The unit has some minor din gs. Dents, and rust. However it works. These units sell for approximately $ 150.00 new from Harbo r Fr eight so this is not a high dollar unit and I don't re present it as such. The instructions can be down loaded.
