LINCOLN SA200 WELDER 1956 Model. Short Hood/ Pipeliner. This is an excellent machine for a rig welder that wants to restore a classic welding machine. It will need a tune up prior to putting it to work. It has been stored inside and occasionally used over the past 20 years. As you can see from the photos, there have been some upgrades done to the machine. The photos of me welding with it were taken on February 5, 2014 and are current. It welds good. just as all the old Short Hoods do. Previous owner has moved the gauges to the battery box area and added a side compartment for the battery. No leads or connectors come with the machine. The battery was discarded due to shipping regulations and old batteries that could possibly leak. There is no warranty or guarantee for this machine. Here is a overall very nice Lincoln SA200 F163 welder on a trailer. Please read this description in its entirety. I believe based on serail number it is a 1971. The unit runs good. Starts everytime. I recently aquired this machine and being upfront I will say that I have seen it welding(just yesterday) but it seems like it will only strike a arc sometimes. I am a reseller not a mechanic or welder by any means. I have read on google and other places that more than likely the brushes need to be cleaned or I was recently told it may be the exciter but I know nothing in regards to doing either of these. I also noticed that when the radiator is completely full it leaks out of the top left side. For Sale 1946 Lincoln SA200 short hood welder. Code#671. Serial#169169 with trailer I purchased this machine to fix it up and update it with a friend. Who was knowledgeable about these old Lincoln’s. Unfortunately his health took a turn for the worse and he has passed. I do not think I have the know how or experience to complete this project on my own. This machine is a manual crank and with the magneto it does not need a battery. The governor doesn't seem to rev the engine properly. Maybe adjustment or the spare governor might cure this problem. I don't know a lot about them. When I bought it. The seller had a spare magneto and governor that will go with the machine. I fabricated the bumper on the trailer in the pictures so it swings down for clearance to crank the engine over.The trailer is made for a welding machine, and the hitch ... moreis for a 2” ball. These old machines do not generate AC power only DC. I have welded with this machine and it has the smooth arc that these old machines are known for. I hope somebody will have the interest and knowledge to fix this old girl up. I can help with shipping as I have another larger tilt bed trailer I can put machine on for delivery for a modest fee depending on distance. I also have access to a loading dock if a skid mount works better for someone or local pick up. Machine is Sold As Is. The other is a housing marked GC33388AR2474 M9130. Then there are some linkage parts and some shaft seals. Parts are dirty and need to be cleaned.
