This HP 54100D works just fine and passes all self tests. I was using it to develop custom electronics equipment for my shop when the video started jumping around and the video data got funny shaped. See the corners of the pictures. I am too busy and do not have a spare video module to swap in at this time. HP 54100A 1 Gigahertz Digital Oscilloscope If you are looking for a great high speed bench oscilloscope. Consider the HP54100A. It has two channels of up to 1Ghz bandwidth. A separate trigger channel, and an amazing range of automated functions that compute math functions on the waveforms. See the photos to get an idea of how comprehensive and accurate these measurements are. One of the most useful functions is the“Auto” key. Which lets you just hook up the probe, press“Auto” and the scope by itself figures out all the required settings to display two cycles of the waveform, like magic. Be careful looking at these scope. To make sure that a full complement of“pods” are included. These are required for each channel and the trigger channel. And have a BNC connector for attaching a standard scope probe. They fit in slots in the lower right side ... moreof the front panel. A gaping hole is a bad sign– but pods have been readily available on eBay. Of course this unit has all the pods(three for the 54100A– two channels and trigger) Pods come in at least two types. A 1Ghz 50 ohm pod and a 700Mhz 1Mohm pod. This unit includes 2 at 1Ghz and one at 700Mhz. They may be swapped between slots as desired. The condition is good. As you can see in the photos. The display is bright and sharply focused. The unit appears very well calibrated in both the time base and the vertical amplifiers, and with the very sophisticated triggering and display options, this scope should be able to do about whatever you’d like. Additionally there is a GPIB interface for remote control operation. Was used for development, and somehow never ended up in a trash bin and written off as tax expense. No matter what the nice tek employee tells you, be it over the phone or via email, they will NOT service it and will probably thank for returning it, and keep it… This is a nice scope. Passes power on and all user initiated self tests. Consistently passes the critical Signal Path Compensation routine(SPC) w/o exception. Running latest scope firmware V2.5.3 with out issue. Has a win98 sticker on the back but is in fact running Microsoft Windows 2000 Service Pack 3. Radisys.SF810” 566 mhz celeron, 256 megabytes, and a 6 gig hd. Front panel controls/leds are all correctly functioning. The on/off switch works but the led does ... morenot always light. Lightly touch it to light; this part is a high failure rate part, be nice too it. Floppy. Hard drive, and touch screen all work. The touch screen does have a couple of minor blemishes that can’t be seen in use. Overall this scope is in very nice condition, the only thing that seems to be wrong about it is the serial number. It has a minor ding at the upper left corner of the front bezel that might actually be a casting flaw(pictured) Keyboard and mouse not included but recommended(I like the ACK-540) Only the scope and a front cover are included with this sale. No accessories are included. Even if pictured. I’ve included a couple of pictures. But most are screen dumps to the floppy drive with the print button. Pay careful attention to the displays on screen information to get a better feel for the signals applied. I show a fast rise time signal of about 184 ps applied to all for channels with a 4 way power divider. To show input response. Next I applied a 100 mVrms to all four channels at 10 MHz. Note that at 1500 MHz, the scope easily exceeded the 70.7 mVrms–3dBm bandwidth cut off point. Bandwidth with this method appears to be at 1870 MHz. One pic
