TDS 784D NEW CRT/SHUTTER! Calibrated
If you are looking at the TDS784D. Then you already understand the capabilities of this scope and the advantages of Digital Phosphor. In brief, this is a 4 channel color scope with an analog bandwidth of 1GHz and a max sampling rate of 4GSa/S(optimized on one channel) and high speed acquisition/analog scope emulation(Digital Phosphor Oscilloscope) The scope is features 1% DC vertical gain accuracy and a wide range of automatic measurements, analytics(FFT) and digital storage. It also has a VGA output to allow connecting a computer monitor or projector as a large secondary oscilloscope screen. As shown in photograph, but Dell flat screen monitor is not included. The above is applicable to all 784D scopes. Why buy this scope? First. It was calibrated in January of this year. Second, it is in very nice physical condition as shown by the photographs. ... moreBut most importantly, I have installed a new CRT and LCD shutter. You may be aware that this model scope(and several other Tek models) display color by putting a LCD shutter in front of the CRT. Because the shutter reduces light output, the CRT needs to be driven hard. Over time, the display can become very dim or fail entirely. When I purchased this scope, the screen was hard to read at 100% brightness setting if you were in a bright room. Replacement CRT/Shutters are very, very rare. I lucked into a new old stock CRT/Shutter and have installed and adjusted it to Tek standards. It should last for a long time. Take a look a the photographs. Many photos of 784Ds are taken in dark rooms to make the screen appear readable. You will note that there are lots of reflections of me taking the photographs because the lights are full on in the workshop-and you can read the screen clearly. I also took a picture with the display intensity shown(80% so that you can see the screen at a normal setting, rather than 100% intensity. So. Up for sale is a Tektronix TDS784D 4 channel 1GHZ Digital Oscilloscope. This came to us as surplus from the lab at a local manufacturer and is in good used shape. We have powered it up and run through basic tests and functions on all channels(including passing Signal Path Compensation test) But we are not electronics experts so we are selling this as pictured, working-guaranteed not DOA. It's a little more than our simple workbench needs so we will stick with our old Fluke Scopemeter for now and have set a fair Buy it Now price.
