The display is steady and the triggering is solid. All switches and controls are present and in very good condition. The waveforms shown in the pictures are a 10-KHz Square Wave and a 10-KHz Sine wave. All indicator lights are operational. One plastic knob is missing on the upper right hand corner(see pictures) but the control(Delayed Trigger Level) is fully operational. This oscilloscope may need some adjustment or calibration. This oscilloscope was originally mounted in a proprietary Rack Mount. I removed it from the rack mount and it will be shipped in a light-weight aluminum case as pictured. Probes are not included. Tektronix TDS420- As-is. For parts or repair I'm selling three scopes. I have a TDS420. TDS460, and a TDS 460A, please see all my items if interested in combined shipping. This auction is for the TDS420 only. Please see pictures. Note that the shot of the post screen showing all tests passed was taken when using a different power supply than the one sold with the scope. This is to illustrate that the power supply is the problem. This scope is 75% operational. The power supply needs repair. When booted with a working power supply it passes all self-tests(see photos) As you will receive it. The scope will only boot to all LEDs being lit and will never progress past that point(see first photo) To be clear: THIS SCOPE IS NOT IN FULL WORKING CONDITION. The power supply will need to be repaired or replaced. About this scope: It was barely functional ... morewhen I bought it. All three TDS4XX models I'm selling were purchased together in a lot. Calibrated in 2010. Previously. It would boot but lost functionality at each boot and eventually failed completely. I have recapped all aluminum SMT capacitors on the Acq. Acq/Attn, and front panel boards. All boards were cleaned with Simple Green and 99.9% Isopropyl. I also tried to tune up any nearby solder joints. Using a different power supply the scope boots and passes all self-tests. So the re-capping was a success(see photos) Will not turn on from front panel(soft switch) Will turn on from back panel switch(hard switch) Voltage is low coming out of all regulators on Acq and Acq/Attn board. At this point I'm not interested in pursuing this scope's problems any further. Someone with more experience on this model. Or power supply repair, might get it working in an hour or less. Tektronix TDS210 Digital Oscilloscope (Read about the display before you buy!!!)
This unit needs display work. Other than the display. The unit is fully functional and looks/feels new. I've owned and used it for 10 years now. About 2 years ago the bottom half of the display started occasionally blacking out. It appears to be a capacitance issue with the LCD's ribbon cable. Opening the unit and fiddling with the cable appears to fix the issue, temporarily anyway(I've thought I've fixed it several times now, only to be disappointed. Anyway, I'm selling as is and will include the manual and carry bag. Probes are NOT included. It's a great little scope and I know there's someone out there who can repair this very easily. Take a close look at the pictures and you'll see both channels functioning properly and the self tests pass as well. Two of the pictures show the display functioning properly. ... moreThe problem. As far as I can tell, is related to copper tape that's wrapped around the display's ribbon cable connector. Lightly touching the tape will cause the bottom half of the display to turn on/off, which indicates a touch capacitance-related issue, or possibly a flaky connection. Either way, all major components on the unit are functional and the scope can be used as is, or parted out.

TEK 2430 is a DSO from the repairable era(circa 1987. Made same time as 2445A, 2465A, 2467) and cost over $6000 new. It is the predecessor of the 2430A. The predecessor of the the 2430 was the 468. Serial# is B012710. 1st photo shows a 1Vpp positive going 1KHz squarewave signal into CH1. 2nd photo shows it stores(cord is removed) 3rd photo shows that a signal can be stored just at the instant cord is removed. 4th photo shows same signal into CH2. 5th signal shows a 1KHz signal from a time mark generator. 6th photo shows self tests pass(doesn't prove everything is fine) 7th photo is of rear. 8th photo is of bottom. 9th photo is of left side. 10th photo is of right side.
