And during its more than ten years in production a large range of application modules were released such as logging, room acoustics, infra/ultra sound, human vibration and more, making Type 2231 the undisputed leader. The kit consists of: 1. 2231 Modular Precision Sound Level Meter with a damaged 4155 microphone capsule(see below) and ZC 0020 Input Stage. This is the main unit. 2. LED bar graph stereo audio level meter for VINTAGE TAPE DECK REPAIR & ALIGNMENT

Up for bid/sale here is a neat lil’ device(still works great) that I fabricated. Wired& built MANY YEARS AGO in the late 80’s, when I was just a teen LOL. I used it for testing PREAMPS as well as cassette deck/Walkman/open reel PLAYBACK HEAD AZIMUTH AJDUSTMENTS. I stole the stereo LED bar graph meter(and IC driver circuit) out of an old tape deck or receiver that I gutted& salvaged for parts. I found this a few weeks ago in an old parts bin and it was dead. I opened it up and found an old homemade/soldered 3.6V NiCAD pack that was all corroded and long since direly deceased LOL. None of the corrosion corrupted the inside of the enclosure, so I just ripped out the old epoxied NiCAD pack and installed ... morea 2AA battery holder(3VDC) with a convenient 9V clip on the end. I loaded 2 size AA Duracells, flipped the rear toggle switch and PRESTO! ALL the LED’s lit up across the scale. This is the default power indication you get until you actually inject audio signal. The meter is made to be driven with LINE LEVEL or LOW POWER AUDIO, in the range of 200mW to 2000mW. It is PERFECT for testing/repairing/aligning Ipods, MP3 players, Walkmans, Discmans, tape decks and preamps. There is still my old hand written sticker label on the bottom(LOL) that gives the pinout for 1/8” and ¼” stereo plugs as follows: LEFT=WHITE=TIP/RIGHT=RED=MID SHAFT/Gnd-Shield-Black=Inner shaft. The rear toggle switch is POWER. Audio may be injected in TWO ways…via the ¼” stereo jack(you can use a 1/4” to 1/8” stereo adapter)OR through the color coded spring terminals, exactly the same as many stereo receivers and speakers use for speaker terminals. There are just two Phillips screws on the bottom to open the case(smaller#1 Phillips) Just REMOVE THE TOP CASE HALF to install 2 new alkaline AA cells. The case halves only go back together one way. The calibration is NOT guaranteed, due to jostling and temperature changes in shipping, and because it is a 50 year old tester. I only mention the calibration to show that it does seem OK at the preliminary checkout stage in the assembly manual, but am offering it as untested, for parts or restoration, needing service. Tektronix AA501 Distortion Analyzer If you are in the audio repair business. You need one of these! Just Serviced and Calibrated in December 2014 by a Tektronix Professional Condition: Unit works and functions as it should. It has a nice clean face and glass on it. Little to no scratches to speak of. All buttons& dials are clean and function properly. I had a professional Tektronix service person go through it in December 2014 and ensure it was in top notch shape and that everything was within factory specs. And it is. Worth Mentioning: One side plate was lost on this unit and another one was manufactured from another piece of Tektronix equipment. Sound Technology distortion analyzer, model 1700 B. Working!
Here is a nice older version distortion analyzer. It was very popular back in the 80's and 90's and still does the same job it was intended. It is ideal for tube amp type work but does not have the capability to measure the state of the art amps of today. The minimum useable distortion level measurable on the instrument is.01 percent. Which is fine for tube amp work, and actually for most common solid state amps. many boast sub.01% distortion but when it is tested they don't do it! The unit is in working condition and is close but not equal to its specifications. There are internal adjustments that are in the manual that might be able to be done to hone it in to the original specs of.0025% but I don't know if that is practical. But it does do.01% 0085% as is so it can be used with no more work if that is what you want. The ... moreunit is clean and comes with a set of connection leads that are typical in what you need to connect an amp. The manual is a copy bought off of the internet and I must say it is not as good as it should be. However, to give the guy credit, he watermarked some of the pages with his website so you can vow to never buy from him ever! But as bad as the manual is it still is quite useable. This listing is for a case of Larson Davis Dosimeters(Personal SLM- sound level meters) It contains ten(10) Larson Davis Spark 705+ Dosimeters. Ten(10) microphones, one(1) Larson Davis Spark 706RC Dosimeter with a soft carry case, one(1) Larson Davis CAL150 Calibrator which operates at 1000Hz either 114dB or 94dB, the calibrator adapter for the microphones, Blaze 6.01 software on a USB drive(operates on Windows XP and Windows 7) one(1) spiral-bound software and dosimeter manual(also available on the USB drive) nineteen(19) black foam microphone covers, and one(1) hard-shell case. Note that the set contains eleven(11) dosimeters and only ten(10) microphones. The dosimeters connect to a computer with IR wireless communication to download the reports or program the Spark 705+ units. The Spark 706RC has a display which can be used to operate ... morethe unit aside from a computer. The Spark 706RC can also control the 705+ units wirelessly through their IR ports. These 706RC and 705+ dosimeters and microphones were all tested to function(they capture and calibrate with the CAL150 and all the IR ports communicate. The Spark 706RC functions as intended and connects with the Spark 705+ units through the IR Emulate function of the 705+. All the units are in very good. Clean condition. The battery compartments are clean as well.
