Nice Vintage General Radio Model 546C Audio-Frequency Microvolter - Functional
The General Radio Model 546C Audio-Frequency Microvolter is used with an audio oscillator to provide low-level audio signals of known voltage. Frequency response is 20 Hz to 20kHz. With measurements possible to 100 KHz with reduced accuracy. With a standard input voltage of 2.2 V output voltage range is 0.5 μV to 1.0 V. Input impedance is a nominal 600 Ω, and output impedance is a nominal 600 Ω ±5% Basic accuracy is ±3% We believe these specs are correct but cannot warranty it since we found them on the Internet and not from a GR Manual. We have connected the General Radio 546C to a Hewlett Packard Model 200CD audio Oscillator(NOT INCLUDED IN AUCTION) as a signal source it is set to a frequency of 1KHz and the input power on the meter is set to a reading of approximately 0dB. We have a Hewlett Packard 34401A Multimeter(NOT INCLUDED ... moreIN AUCTION) connected to the output to measure the output voltage. We have taken 8 pictures that have the left side output knob set to 10 and the right side multiplier knob set to 100mV. 10mV, 1mV, and 100uV. The digital multimeter(set to AC Volts) indicates approximately 1V, 100mV, 10mV and 1mV respectively which appears to be correct. We are not positive that we are using the unit properly but the meter works and the output voltages correspond to the dial settings so We will sell the unit as being function per the way that we are testing it. AUDIO FREQUENCY MULTIPLIER Multiplies audio signals by 1. 10, or 100. Operates on an internal 9V battery, or 120VAC, although I have always used the battery. Checked it out this morning, and it works fine. No damage to the metal case. Other than some scuffs, caused by other instruments sitting on top of it.
