This is for parts and as is. It does power on. The meter moved around a bit. However, I have no way to verify it works. Someone modded it by adding a switch at the input labelled"Hi-Z and 600 Ohm(probably a good thing) Someone also put a hole in the top of the unit(see picture) maybe to adjust a pot inside? I did not open the unit. The case is stained and a bit dirty but could be cleaned up with some elbow grease. If your a tech or a ham then you know what your looking at and what it is used for. As I recall if your trying to measure harmonic distortion in an HF rig this is a tool you need. This might be a great project or you can use for parts for another unit. It does power up and i am able to get the meter to zero out. The input jacks cause the meter level to rise but that is the extent of the testing that I have done. I slowly brought up the AC to allow the filter caps to get a soft charge. Has all RCA and GE US tubes in it. The two rear feet are missing but that does not affect operation. Also the amplitude control turning is tight but does operate. Excellent for the vintage audio collector! No reserve auction. HEATHKIT HD-1 Harmonic Distortion Meter. Seems to work OK, as I carefully followed the calibration procedure in the manual, and it acted as prescribed in each step. I did not, however, actually set up and use the analyzer to measure distortion, so I can't claim that it actually does what it is supposed to do. The calibration is NOT guaranteed, due to jostling and temperature changes in shipping, and because it is a 50 year old tester. I only mention the calibration to show that it does seem OK at the preliminary checkout stage in the assembly manual, but am offering it as untested, for parts or restoration, needing service. Includes bound copy of assembly and operation manual. Sold As Is.
